Today's lunch at Casa Soto in Weatherford, OK, was an absolute revelation. Though we missed the daily lunch buffet, the extended lunch specials (available until 4 PM) were a fantastic alternative, offering generous portions and incredible value. From the moment we sat down, the service was impeccable. The owner herself greeted and seated us, and both she and the attentive staff checked in frequently throughout our meal. Fresh, thin chips, vibrant salsa, and a piping hot, subtly spicy queso arrived almost immediately – a promising start. Our orders, two #1 combos and my chile relleno with a chicken soft taco, arrived promptly on plates so hot they practically glowed. Every item was perfectly heated, requiring a moment to cool before diving in. This Tex-Mex was truly phenomenal. The rice, often an afterthought, was a standout: flavorful, moist, and easily the best I've had in years. The refried beans tasted as if they'd been lovingly cooked with bacon grease, and the cheese on the enchiladas offered an impressive 18-inch pull! My kids raved about their beef and chicken enchiladas, especially the distinct sauces (chili and queso blanco), and their tacos were generously loaded. The undisputed star of my meal, however, was the chile relleno. This perfectly sized poblano, likely stuffed with Oaxaca cheese and bathed in a rich red chile sauce, was an inspired choice. We practically licked our plates clean, and the owner, noticing our satisfaction, insisted our kids try dessert. Expecting sopapillas, we were delighted by a plate of miniature sopapillas adorned with chocolate sauce and cinnamon sugar, accompanied by squeeze bottles of honey and caramel. My kids devoured three each, and we even had enough to take home for two more nights of sweet treats! Casa Soto is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience. The incredible food, the warm and attentive service, and the thoughtful touches make this an absolute gem. We've already voted to make the 120-mile drive back this summer to experience their lunch buffet. Don't miss this outstanding Tex-Mex...
Read moreI had not ate here since graduating many years ago, but had the chance to stop in on 08-15-2024. The staff that seated me was very pleasant, and brought my chips and salsa promptly, and I was told that a particular waiter that was pointed out to me would take my order soon. He was also the waiter was also taking care of the other 2 tables next to me. He walked past me many times, I smiled at him, and he would just look at me, and keep walking to where I was eventually just ignored all together... I had been there for 10 minutes without even a drink order being taken (they were not busy at this time) it wasn't until Lea P. saw me from across the restaurant while she was taking an order for another table. She noticed something was off, and promptly came over to ask if my drink order had been taken or anything. I told her no it had not. Lea took care of my order, and my additional order to go. Since it took about 10 minutes before an order was taken I was almost late to a county wide meeting. Lea received a nice tip, as she should for helping me get in and out as quick as possible, and she definitely deserves a promotion or wage increase, as I know others saw me sitting there, and kept walking, she was the only one to take the...
Read moreWe were visiting family from out of town and they said that this was a good place to eat. When we were seated the booth was dirty and had beans and other food on it. My brother found a very long hair in his salsa as he was eating it and lost his appetite. He wanted to cancel our entire order and leave, but I insisted that we stay. We asked for them to cancel his order but unfortunately they had already made the food. My chilie relleno was very greasy and was not good. My husband had the fajitas and the shrimp, steak, and chicken were over cooked. The waitress was really good and tried to rectify the situation by take his meal off of the ticket. At the end of the meal the waitress said that the manager would not allow her to comp his meal, that he didn't eat, but wanted to give us free sopapias instead. We didn't ask for our meal to be competed just the one order that my brother didn't want to eat because he had lost his appetite. We declined the sopapias and left. My brother will not...
