I've now given this restaurant a second time to redeem themselves after the first visit was not memorable at best. On my first visit, my party had to wait over fifteen minutes after being seated to place our drink orders. Two of our drink orders were wrong. I'd asked before ordering an appetizer if their fried green tomatoes were corn meal or flour coated. The waitress said they were flour coated. I ordered them along with the chicken fried steak dinner. Our food finally arrived after a long 20-minute wait. The appetizer arrived with my meal, were thickly sliced, and were still partially frozen along with being corn meal coated. The chicken fried steak had a lot of gristle in it, which made it impossible to chew and tasted very unpleasant. The dinner rolls were small and resembled flat biscuits and had no taste. The only thing that was satisfactory was the side dish of green beans. I was resigned that I'd never come back, but I finally decided to give them another chance to redeem themselves. On the second visit, the wait was better, and the waitress was friendlier, and the orders were correctly delivered. I decided on ordering the BBQ pulled pork dinner this time as I thought how could that go wrong. When it was brought to the table, it looked delicious, but when I tried to take a bite of the pulled pork, it was in huge pieces that I had to end up cutting into smaller slices and it too had pieces of fatty tissue which made it unpalatable. The coleslaw I'd ordered was coarsely sliced and hard to chew. Again, the only side dish that was okay was the cottage cheese. I couldn't eat the meal and didn't order any to-go boxes. You'd think for the prices they charge, they'd use better quality of meat. In conclusion, I will not be returning to Flat Creek restaurant. There are better restaurants in the area that will be getting my business in the future.

Update: We actually went back. Someone talked me into it. It was worse than before. We all got sick! Whatever it is they’re putting on the french fries , we are all in the bathroom -that is the only thing we had in common. All three of us are from three different houses and we haven’t seen each other so it isn’t anything we’ve gotten, such as a virus. I called to ask what the seasoning was on the french fries they told me it was Cavendar. This is a seasoning I frequently use at home. That’s not what is on these fries. I called just to ask to make sure before we had to take the baby to the hospital and the girl left the phone on speaker so I could hear her being super hateful about it to her general manager. I felt like I was being pretty reasonable on the phone and when I told the manager, thank you, he hung up on me.. The baby is screaming with gas pains!! Avoid this place at all costs!!! Flavorless food, but a lot of it. The steaks were ok. Chicken fried chicken was not that great. The Mighty pork tenderloin was huge, but tasted like flour. There was absolutely no seasoning and made me feel nauseous after a few bites. The steamed broccoli was not at all cooked, but had a good buttery flavor. What is with those tiny weird rolls?? The only good part to the meal was the fried okra appetizer. Our waitress tried to give us to go boxes before we had hardly eaten our food. Then it took forever to get the check. I’m not sure why we couldn’t get the boxes with the check. I brought most of my food home to give to the dog. This place was trying hard to be Cracker Barrel but missed it by a mile. There is no reason to ever go back to this place- our first and last experience. There are much better places in Webb and Joplin to throw $150 at. Try Famos - it’s amazing!!

Wait was initially slated as 45 minutes. Knowing it's best guess and it's not these servers/waitress/waiters first rodeo. Hopefully it would be shorter and it was by 15 minutes. Already knew our order preferences as we'd been to the Republic MO "Flat Creek" a half a dozen times over the last few years. Ordered quickly with our waitress. Our waitress was efficient of sorts. Needed to ask for refills multiple times. She did as several times if we needed anything but didn't offer options. Example, I got the Three Way platter and there wasn't sauce for the fried chicken. There was sauce for the catfish and shrimp. But nothing to dip chicken tenders in. Again, our waitress was efficient but not that friendly. Almost as if she HAD to be at work and would've rather been elsewhere. Which showed in her demeanor. Which showed in the service score as a 2⭐ Again, she did her job all without being enthusiastic or gregarious. The food was this side of amazing. Only if dipping sauces were available for the tenders. If they were I was unaware our waitress never mentioned options and I shouldn't have had to ask. Atmosphere is top notch. Certainly this location isn't as large of a footprint as the Flat Creek in Republic MO. The Webb City location seemed crowded as tables were exceptionally close. Which if this place gets packed it'd be an uncomfortable experience for customers as there's little room to navigate. The Republic location offers more elbow room. It's packed as me and my family have eaten there half of dozen times where half that you had to wait to be seated and all tables were full or close. There wasn't a feeling of being jammed in. Outside of this, it's a cool location and damn good food for all to enjoy.

Actually the worst meal of my life. Summary: Almost everything tasted pre-made and 80% of everything overcooked. We waited 40 minutes for a table. When we were seated, it was in the middle of a giant room, right next to a party of at least 20, children everywhere. Very loud. After a few minutes, the waitress took our drink/appetizer order. We ordered the lobster dip. Never once was it our waitress that brought the food, always someone who I assume was from the kitchen. Said person brought out the lobster dip and just stood there waiting for us to move the assortment of items they have sitting on the table. The dip was mediocre, the chips were the best part though they were very greasy. We order the chicken fried chicken and the corned beef. The waitress comes back to say they are out of corned beef. So we order the catfish sandwich. The chicken fried chicken was so incredibly dry. It tasted like it was made a week ago and was reheated several times since then. The chicken was actually hard, the knife struggled to cut it 😂 Not to mention the breading was burnt and tasteless. The okra that came with it was slimey (Thankfully I subbed the green beans for said okra because I saw the green beans on another table and all I can say is you don't want the green beans). The roll, what I thought would be the part they couldn't mess up, very strange and also over cooked. Not to mention they didn't bring any of their glorified honey butter with it. When I asked (someone who wasn't our server because she only ever got our drinks) for butter, they brought me a cup of cold, hard butter because they were out of honey butter. At least the mashed potatoes were ok, because it was the only part that couldn't be over cooked. From what I could tell, the catfish was at least edible, though it was two "tenders" of it on a plate with an assortment of sandwich ingredients. I guess they did not want to try and figure out how to assemble that sandwich either 🤷 The fries that came with it were just frozen fries with no seasoning and no sauce. The hush puppies, oh the poor hush puppies. The outside of them actually black, and the inside cooked to high heaven. Yet again, just dry/overcooked. I don't know what the puppies did to deserve such a fate. The stomach pains afterwards were so not worth it. I can't believe that we spent almost $60 on a meal where mediocre mashed potatoes and some chips were the best part. Nothing tasted fresh. Last time we went out, we went to Cheddars (Where we also had the chicken fried chicken and it was soooo much better) spent less money, had an amazing meal with a better atmosphere, wait time, food, server, got drinks, and it was significantly less money. All I can really say is we will never let ourselves, or anybody we plan on keeping around, go to...

Came in for dinner with my husband after a medical treatment, we were seated promptly, got drinks and ordered promptly, right next to the kitchen... radio in the kitchen was louder than in the dining area, not a huge deal, at least it was country and not vulgar. Okra was cooked well done, which was fine with me. But it all went down hill from there...

We ordered burbon glazed pork chops with a loaded baked potato and side salad and pulled pork with beans and a baked potato.

Potatoes came out luke warm, not even hot enough to melt the butter, and under cooked.

Pulled pork was room temp and very dry.

Manager came over and asked what he could do, he offered to bring us new baked potatoes and fresh pulled pork. He returned with 2 baked potatoes and burnt ends(not pulled pork). He also almost added sour cream to my husband's potato, luckily we caught the waitress and reminded her that it shouldn't be on there.

New potatoes had been microwaved, mine had a finger print in it where it looked like they checked the temp, warmer than the first one but still hard and barely warm enough to soften the frozen butter. My husband had a chunk of frozen butter in the middle of his, but his was hot and cooked.

We waited another 10 minutes for the waitress to return from where she was. In the meantime I am hungry so I ate my cold pulled pork. When the waitress comes back and my husband tells her those are burnt ends not pulled pork, she offered to tell the manager. You could tell she was inexperienced and nervous, we were not angry or stern with her and just told her to please fix it but that I already ate the cold food. To which they brought us more pulled pork. Manager never came back over. She brought us the check and informed us it is only our orginal order, not the burnt ends. At this point im already irritated and ready to leave... so my husband paid without asking to speak to the manager again.

We paid full price for this food. I barely ate anything. My husband said his pork chops were good, but we were highly disappointed in management and the food this time. We have been here multiple times, considering it was NOT busy at all, the food should have been better quality.

Hit or miss maybe? It's never been like this when we...
