OMG... I moved to Florida many years ago. I can't fly home anytime I feel like it, so if you can... imagine being far from home and craving "local kine" food. Over the years I've searched for any resturants that serve if not a real hawaiian meal, at least something close to AUTHENTIC. No no no... "Poke bowls" do not cut it for authentic Hawaiian food. 😁 And I'm sorry but before you think it.. "Ramen" is NOT the same as "Saimin" 🤣 its only a substitude. Well... TODAY ... 🙆♀️ I accidentally stumbled across this little piece of HAWAIIAN 🌴SUNSHINE! 🌝 I can't even explain how excited I was. The staff was suoer friendly. The owner actually took a moment to say hi in spite of how crazy busy they were. I definitely could feel the "Aloha Spirit" there.. Unfortunately I was pressed for time & although I wanted to stay & talk story for a while, I had to get a take out & go. I could not wait to get home and indulge. I ordered the saimin just how it's offered on the menu, but with extra broth. I also picked up a few of the spam musubi. Lemme tell you.. They DID NOT DISAPPOINT. It was just like home. If I lived in Wesley Chapel I just know I'd be there all the time. Being in Zephyrhills it really isn't that far to go, to get a little taste of home.
I know, I'm sorry, this is a long story. But from a local Portuguese family we are known for talking too much. 🤣🤣
Try this place.. you won't regret it. 🥰 Aloha...
Read moreI'm doing this with the most respectful way possible brother. To hopefully help with future customers. I have lived in Hawaii and many other states. My favorite food from Hawaii is a spam musubi. I have had 100s of them from so many different places. (Including gas stations) it used to be my breakfast for the longest. I feel as if I have enough "taste experience" to judge how these taste. I just want the owner to know, that the ones I bought here were the worst I have ever had and I was so upset about it... usually I don't mind since it's made on the mainland, but these were just awful. Soap awful. I would love to come back, I would LOVE to be a taste verifier haha. But goodness it was bad. My social anxiety wouldn't let me walk back in and retry. Great luck with expanding, I'll come back when yall get that loco...
Read moreThis was so delicious! We found Palani's on google after we were curious if any local Hawaiian food places existed on this side of the bay, and were so excited to see this place.
We got the Saimin noodles, Sunshine Chicken, and a Hawaiian Sun - Strawberry Lilikoi. The noodles were delicious, and the sunshine chicken with the Laoganma Spicy Chili Crisp was amazing. They even came out and offered us some shaved ice afterwards which was so kind. Worth the drive, worth the money, and we will be going back again soon.
Edit: we’ve gone back here probably 4-5 times now? We’ve honestly just decided to get the saimin every time. It’s genuinely just that good. We haven’t had a bad experience yet! :) the restaurant could use more seating but we’ve always been able to figure it out for lunch time....
