So y'all know me I'm fair and I rate based on the usual factors. Food quality, time quality, service, atmosphere. I'll start off by saying this is a class act family hole in the wall. Gus is a nice guy with a fascinating past and a good heart. You may be surprised at some of the memorabilia you find on the walls. Especially the thanks from some early punk/grunge bands he fed. Initial atmosphere. It'll throw you off at first because it isn't an industrial complex but don't let that get to you. It's not pristine and it's not meant to be. He keeps things clean though. You can just as easily bring yourself as you can a party of seven or eight. A key part is paying attention to the hours because currently he is 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.. As far as the food goes he cuts and preps everything fresh daily and makes the meals from scratch. I was given a peek behind the counter and can confirm this. You can definitely get quality flavor and depth in when he cooks. You may raise your eyebrows at the prices but when you realize the size of the portions you're getting for the price you will not complain. I ordered a $15 chorizo burrito and the thing was as big as my forearm. I looked out because I showed up when it was really quiet after a morning event. So the entire place was empty. I was blessed to talk with Gus as he cooked and he pointed out it was just him and his wife running the place. So if you show up and things take a little bit please be respectful and patient.
Bottom line very good hole in the wall that's worth...

It's a bit hard to find as it is way in back of a parking lot off of Hawley Road next to the Channel 58 office; think old Sam's Club site if you're familiar with the area. Once there, you'll find it well worth the trip. The restaurant is immaculate, clean, modern, nicely decorated and very comfortable. The grill is visible to customers which is always reassuring, and the staff couldn't be more friendly and accommodating. I met Gus who introduced himself and after a small amount of talk, proceeded to make me a delicious enchilada with rice and beans and then proudly presented it to me asking if there was anything else I would like. Fantastic, caring service. There is plenty of parking, a full bar and an array of food on the menu including deli sandwiches, soups, breakfast items and more. Truly a hidden gem and worth...
Read moreWe couldn't find the place! It's next to CBS 58 headquarters! Would never know it was there but thanks to Google we found it. We came in 45 minutes before closing and we're going to take our food to go. When we walked in we weren't greeted, which at first bothered me. Then we were informed he would cook what we wanted, put it in a to-go container and we could eat until it was time to close up. Sounds good to me because I'd be mad if someone came right before closing.. We got the gyros. Let me tell you it was huge! Got second for later huge! It was so tasty. Worth the money. I can't wait to try the breakfast! We...
