This is my local Five Guys and I've noticed recently it has been having issues and the service has been extremely slow. Big lines form that seems to take anywhere from 30-40 minutes to get peoples orders out. There are 6-7 people behind the counter at any one time and half of them seem to be twiddling their thumbs. I happened to go in today and they were out of sauce cups, and I asked a young man behind the counter if he would mind refilling them since a lot of people were hanging around that area waiting. He responded, "someone will eventually, but we're currently in a rush" (which was true, they were backed up with orders) but then he proceeded to just stand at the register, and do nothing. I said, how about you refill them since you're not busy, and to his credit he did, and it only took him a couple of minutes to do so.
My wife and I ordered two cheeseburgers all the way and a regular fry. Usually a medium fry is plenty for two people. When they finally got our order we saw that there were not very many fries in the bag. (Not typical at Five Guys) I went to the counter and requested more since it looked like maybe they had made a mistake and given us a small fry. The manager then told me that there used to be a different manager that wasn't there anymore because they were giving out too many fries. What?? I have never been to a Five Guys location that didn't load everyone up with fries, it's basically their trademark. Tons of fries is the Five Guys brand. He did end up giving us a few more, but they also messed up my wife's order and left lettuce, onion and mushrooms off her all the way cheeseburger. These burgers and fries aren't that cheap either compared to most fast food restaurants, so it can be a little more upsetting when they get it wrong.
Maybe everyone at this location is in training, but watching the manager make one burger at a time instead of managing his team and making sure they are all on task is a mistake. If my next visit to this location is as lackluster as this and a couple of past experiences have been, then I probably won't be returning even though it is so close to where I live, and I typically...
Read moreI do not understand the hype that this place gets at all. Out of the few times I have been here, it has gotten worse every time. Why are their burgers so greasy? I do not know how they cook them but they just taste like peanut oil. It also feels like they steam the burgers in the tinfoil after wrapping them up. Or it could just be all the grease from the meat and other ingredients making the buns soggy. Not only that but paying $11 for a bacon cheeseburger makes no sense to me. Also, their fries are NASTY. For a medium size they probably fry 3 entire potatoes and the sodium content is INSANE. This also costs $6 which at any other fast food restaurant would get you a sandwich and sometimes a whole meal. They put some in the cups, and then add a disgusting amount on top of that to the point that the bag is soaked with grease. Also, their shakes are disgusting. It is awful that they would ever add bacon but considering the rest of their menu, I guess it makes sense. They are so watery but also overly sweet. Not only that but $5.49 for this? The employees here are also so rude so not even that is a saving grace. Also, waiting 30 minutes for this is not worth it. I would not recommend going here. If you are wanting a burger; try Tonyburgers, McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, even Carl's Jr., all are better and cheaper...
Read moreIts disappointing when you are starving late in the evening. You book it over to 5 guys because they don't close until 10pm. You walk in at 9:53pm. But the woman at the cash register says that you can't order burgers because they will take "at least 8 or 9 minutes to cook, and therefore won't be ready by 10pm, closing time". I remain calm and state, "so you really close at 9:53pm". No. We close at ten she says. But you're refusing to serve me I reply. Uncomfortable moments. I continue, "if you're going to refuse to serve customers after 9:53pm then you should lock the door at 9:53pm and turn off the 'open' sign". But we close at 10pm. She's looking pretty sheepish now. I calmly state, "then you need to serve every customer that walks in the door right up until 10pm". The shift manager walks over now and simply asks, "how many patties sir"? Two, thank you. The manager gave us extra fries with our order and we were out their door at exactly 10:03pm!! Sorry, not sorry Gabrielle for getting you home from work 3...
