My husband and I have always enjoyed Texas Roadhouse and frequently choose it for family outings. However, our experiences at this particular location have consistently fallen short of expectations. Unfortunately, our most recent visit only reinforced that pattern.
Tonight we visited to celebrate my sister’s birthday. Upon being seated, we found both the table and booth seats were soaking wet. While the host promptly dried them with a towel, the issues escalated from there. When our food arrived, only three out of four meals were served. We were told that my sister’s meal had been taken to the wrong table but “not to worry, we have it,” which gave the impression that a replacement was already in progress.
After ten minutes with no update, we inquired again and were told they were just beginning to remake her meal. When we asked what would be done to address the inconvenience, our server looked at my sister and said, “Happy birthday… I’m just kidding, don’t take it personally,” which felt dismissive and unprofessional.
By the time her food finally arrived—30 minutes after the rest of us had been served—it was only the steak, and the sides were still missing. We asked to speak with a manager, hoping to clarify the situation and resolve it. The manager offered a free appetizer for a future visit but refused to comp the meal, stating, “We recooked this for you,” implying we had returned it, which was not the case. The meal had never been served in the first place.
When we explained the situation to our server, he became argumentative and defensive. He insisted he had no control over the situation, stated he only worked there part-time and didn’t rely on tips, and suggested we withhold his tip to make up for the manager’s decision. Up until this point, we had fully intended to tip him, understanding the kitchen delays were not his fault. However, his unprofessional response when we calmly tried to clarify the issue changed our perception entirely. On top of that, my sister never received the complimentary birthday dessert.
Sadly, this is not an isolated incident. On a previous visit with a group of ten, my husband’s steak arrived 20 minutes after everyone else’s, was overcooked (well done instead of rare), and then took another 30 minutes and two servers before a cold replacement finally arrived. Again, only after pushing back did the manager agree to comp his meal—but not without unnecessary resistance.
We are disappointed and frustrated that these issues have occurred repeatedly at this location. We hope that management takes this feedback seriously and addresses both the kitchen delays and the lack of professionalism in...
Read moreI have worked in the food industry for a bit now and I totally understand the frustration and problems that arise especially now when most places are unfortunately short staffed and doing the best they can. That being said...
I placed my order online, I set a time but when going to check out I needed a later time so no big deal to me. I arrived roughly 15 minutes ahead of time so texted and waited. It said to wait they weren't ready yet which I was expecting that since I got early. I waited about 9 or so minutes after my scheduled pick up time and got a text saying it was ready but wasn't bothered by the timing at all. There was a rather large line for pick up and I could tell some of the customers were unhappy for whatever reason and sadly taking it out on the staff helping the best they can because really do they think you are deliberately causing issues just to make sure you get a stern talking to from each customer. Anyways for the most part the line moved rather smoothly with the exception of about 4 that I witnessed getting irritable. They lady at the window was very professional and polite to everyone no matter their tone and attitude.
I got to the window gave my name she grabbed my food and drinks and sent me on my way. I did wish her good luck, she smiled which I hope helped her feel better about the more trying customers. I hope it went more smoothly for her and the rest of the staff.
Food was great, the interaction was great, I order takeout frequently because of my insatiable steak cravings and honestly if it has happened I don't remember being disappointed. Keep up the good work in these...
Read moreI love going to Texas Roadhouse but had one of the worst service experiences. My dad and I went out to dinner and when we got there we got seated right away. But we waited over 10 minutes until a waiter came to us to get drinks. When she came up to us she immediately told us about a 9 people table she had and was handling them. We said it’s okay all good. We ordered our food and drinks at the same time. We got our salads from another server. When we were done Casey came to pick them up and my dad’s drink was almost empty she didn’t say anything and didn’t ask us about how the food was. Then 10 minutes later are food came out and one of the guy waiters brought it to us.(he was super nice wish I remembered his name) Casey walked by us didn’t say anything so my dad had to holler to ask her for refill. She snapped at him saying okay just give me a minute. She brought it over and then complained about her 9 person table. The manager came by to check on us and told him the food was good but struggling with the service. He felt bad but we said it’s okay. Casey came back when we were done (never asked how our food was) she asked how we were paying and we said card. So she explained how to use the kiosk which we have used before so she could tell us at the end that there is a tip option. She said I know your not happy with me so you don’t have to tip me in a very snarky way. It’s just upsetting that we go to have a dinner and have a waiter with such a snarky and bad attitude. If she would have just stop bringing up the other table and didn’t snap back at my father she would have gotten...
