As a connoisseur of fine dining and a fervent advocate for culinary inclusivity, it is with a heavy heart that I must express my disappointment in the esteemed restaurant's lack of vegetarian options. While I had heard nothing but praise for the culinary mastery showcased within its walls, my recent dining experience left me feeling marginalized and overlooked as a vegetarian diner.
Upon perusing the menu, I was disheartened to find a glaring absence of thoughtfully crafted vegetarian dishes. In an era where dietary preferences and restrictions are increasingly acknowledged and celebrated, it is surprising that such a revered establishment would neglect to offer a selection that caters to the growing number of individuals embracing plant-based lifestyles.
The absence of vegetarian options not only limits the dining experience for those who abstain from meat, but it also fails to reflect the diverse and evolving palate of modern gastronomy. In a landscape where innovation and creativity reign supreme, one would expect a restaurant of such esteemed reputation to embrace the challenge of crafting imaginative and delectable vegetarian dishes.
Furthermore, the lack of vegetarian options perpetuates the outdated notion that vegetarianism is a niche dietary choice rather than a mainstream lifestyle embraced by individuals from all walks of life. By failing to provide inclusive dining options, the restaurant inadvertently alienates a significant portion of its potential clientele and misses an opportunity to showcase its culinary prowess to a broader audience.
In conclusion, while I cannot deny the undeniable talent and artistry displayed by the restaurant's culinary team, I must lament the missed opportunity to elevate its offerings by embracing vegetarian cuisine. As a passionate advocate for gastronomic diversity and inclusivity, I hope that the restaurant will heed this feedback and take steps to ensure that all diners, regardless of dietary preference, feel welcomed and catered to...
Read moreMy husband and I have dined at Jags several times and always had a great experience. Last night though was so disappointing. We had reservations to dine at 4pm for our anniversary. We were seated at a table for two. Someone took our drink order and brought bread and told us our server would be with us shortly. 10 minutes later the person who brought our drinks asked us to move to the table right next to the table we had already been sitting at with bread, drinks and had no acknowledgement from the server. We moved to the table though to be good sports, although it made zero cents why we were made to move and another 5-10 minutes later our server came to greet us finally. This was after two other tables were seated in the room and had drink orders, acknowledged by the server. Our server didn’t go over any specials and seemed frazzled already. We went ahead and ordered because it was 15-20 minutes of sitting, moving to another table before ordering. My husband clearly asked for his cowboy ribeye to be cooked medium. We ordered an appetizer, which came out timely and was delicious. Salads came out timely too. Our entrees though were a mess. At around 4:50 or so our server stopped by and mumbled “I messed up but your food will be out soon”. We didn’t get our entrees until 5:15, over and hour from when we arrived. When my husband cut into the steak it was way undercooked, the server said it was medium rare which we clearly stated we ordered medium. That took about 15 minutes to cook. It then seemed like the server was avoiding us so my husband waited for drink refills and overall the experience was terrible. They did comp the steak and manager checked in when the steak was reheated. For the price you pay at this establishment, you do have an expectation to have good service. Asking guests to move when you are already eating bread and have drinks, servers forgetting entrees and wrong steak temperatures just really ruin the...
Read moreWe ate here for my in-law's 40th anniversary. The Pros: My steak was perfect. My sides (mashed potatoes and salad) were on-point. Appetizers were very good, especially the coconut chicken. Our server was amazing. She double-checked everything, filled drinks in a timely fashion, was pleasant and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was upscale, clean, and appropriate for a high-end restaurant. All gradable subcategories were excellent, and on-par with Tony's and the various Jeff Ruby's brands. The Cons: Three months of stress. My mother-in-law suffers from anxiety, and this restaurant was her idea. She wanted to share Jag's with her family because she had had it for her retirement dinner and was super pleased. At first she was super-excited to share with not only her husband but her two daughters and their husbands (me included) and her four grandkids (ages 7-11). She verified there were things on the menu that the kids would like, she asked if everyone was comfortable bringing the kids, and she made the reservation. At which point she was told $50 will be charged to her card for each no-show and $25 for each person late more than 15 minutes. I had to hear about this policy every time I saw her for THREE MONTHS. Two months of her worrying about a kid getting sick or such had her have us get baby sitters and her cancel the kids and get an amended reservation. And then we're all coming from Indiana, and she was worried we might hit traffic, so an additional month of her stressing about that resulted in our entire party sitting in Jag's parking lot 45 minutes before they even opened. Let me tell you. THREE MONTHS of listening to someone stress out about a stupid policy that nobody else has was an entirely too-bitter herb to sprinkle upon my food. Three stars deducted, one...
