New China — Restaurant in West Chester Township

My family and I have ordered from here for at least 10 years. Their food is always delicious and it’s nice to see familiar faces. However, with my working closely to the building I have taken it upon myself to door dash the food to me. A couple days ago a friend/co worker of mine ordered 2 general tso lunches with egg rolls and a drink. Door dash showed up with a tightly knitted bag (as new china always ties it) so we knew it wasn’t tampered with. We only received 1 drink (correct) 2 egg rolls (correct) and 1 general tso (incorrect, supposed to be 2) door dash was no help due to it not being tampered with. We reached out to new china with the receipt and asked if we could get the other lunch. The woman gave us grief and nearly refused to do it even though we provided proof it wasn’t given to us. Finally after my friend persisted that she wanted her food she spent over $20, they gave it to her when she showed up with the receipt and food we received. The woman was rude and cold. This is my new favorite take-out place! I just ordered from here tonight (8/16/18) and had to immediately write a review. They offer online ordering and even deliver! Delivery was extremely fast, I was worried because we live in the new Vista Verde neighborhood and everyone has a hard time finding us because GPS has not updated with our streets yet but seriously, the food was at my door within 20-25 minutes of me placing my order online. We ordered the General Tso's Chicken, Veggie Lo Mein, Pork Fried Rice, Chinese Donuts, Crab Rangoon, and Egg Rolls. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!!! I'm super picky about my Crab Rangoon, I like the sweet kind that does not have a lot of the crispy bits of fried dough... their Crab Rangoon is PERFECT. And they have good coupons online, we got 2 free egg rolls with our purchase over $20. Another coupon was a free order of Crab Rangoon with a $30 purchase. I am a doordash employee. I walked in this restaurant and watched the gentleman making food take his bare hands and scoop probably 5 pounds of raw chicken directly from a container and throw it in the fryer. No gloves. No washing beforehand. Just straight hand to food to fryer. Then if that wasn't gross enough, he walked over and RINSED his hand off and continued cooking and grabbing pots and pans, etc. Now I've been dashing a long time, and have seen a decent amount of bad food safety practices by different area restaurants, but this one takes the cake. Honestly I'm thankful i saw it. I know I'll never order from there now. I will be reporting this to doordash as well. We're in the middle of a pandemic.
