This review is positive with a few negatives. The food is 9.5/10. This is not your average Italian restaurant. Prepared to be wowed with every unique aspect of taste. This is a $$$ restaurant. Positive: From the moment we sat down to when we left, the tastes were stellar and exceeded expectations. The olive oil for the bread was exceptional 10/10. The bruschetta was a nice surprise and delicious 9/10, house red wine 9/10, spaghetti & sauce 9/10, the meatballs 10/10 (best ever), house salad and vinaigrette 10/10, and mug of cappuccino 10/10. Clearing dirty plates from the table promptly IS important, and the young lady who cleared dirty plates when we were finished was second to none and deserves management recognition, in addition to, of course, the chefs. Our server was okay. The wait time for ordered items was short. The restaurant was very clean and tidy. Negative:. We tried this restaurant because of a recommendation from our Penn Med oncologist. When we arrived it WASN’T busy (but quickly filled to capacity). We have been going to restaurants for decades in the US, and other countries, and NEVER have we experienced a weirder or more rude reception from a host. No “Hello”, no “Welcome”, no “Hi” - nothing!? We stood there with 2 employees and the hostess 4 feet away, just looking at us and no one said anything? It was the most bizarre, unwelcoming, and rude experience, unlike anything we’ve ever encountered. As we continued to stand there being stared at, we were seconds away from turning around and walking out the door, when the hostess finally aloofly said, “Two?” And to further the rude host experience, there wasn’t any “Goodbye”, ‘Thank you”, or departing appreciative words, which is one of the primary duties of a host is to SMILE, welcome in, and earn repeat business when customers are departing. The host area of this establishment would immensely benefit from a serious overhaul. Because it is such a popular place, customers were packed in which made the experience cramped and very LOUD, and securing a parking spot can be challenging. Despite the unforgettably rude hostess experience, we highly recommend...
Read moreIf you are looking to throw a private event here. Look no further - this is absolutely the place! I can’t stress it enough. My parents threw me a 30th birthday private dinner party for 35 guests in the Garden patio & we still rave over how amazing everything was! The staff was incredibly communicative & helpful prior to the event by helping with menu selections, table set-ups, food allergies, questions, and more. You name it and the Private Event Staff was on-top of it with a quick answer and easy accommodating solution. They were so willing to go above and beyond prior to the event, but also during! They were genuinely so friendly, kind, & attentive but also happy to be there for our special night. Which truly made all the difference in our experience. You can tell these people love what they do, and they sure do it well! They catered to not only our guests but also the hosts/guest of honor all night making sure every detail was taken care of. We have never hosted an event where we weren’t trying to micro-manage the details. We were able to just enjoy ourselves with our friends & family because the staff had it covered.
The food was to die-for. Don’t pass on the Short Rib option and the Whipped Ricotta bread board! Each guest said multiple times how it was some of the best food they’ve ever had at a dinner party and it is true. There was an abundance of food being brought out fresh by the staff left & right all night. They were even so kind as to package everything up in individual containers so guests could take some home if they wanted. Our event was buffet style for 35 people & there was no shortage of food at any moment. Nothing was run out and it was consistently being refilled fresh and hot before you could blink.
Thank you Limoncello West Chester for making it such a special & memorable 30th birthday celebration...
Read moreAs a lifelong New Yorker with high standards—especially for Italian food—I’m not easily impressed. But from the moment I arrived at Limoncello for my birthday dinner, I knew I was in good hands. This was my first visit, and it exceeded my expectations.
The service stood out immediately—warm, attentive, and efficient without being overbearing. Our server made sure we were comfortable, answered menu questions with ease, and kept everything running smoothly. Good service, let alone done the right way is a rare thing nowadays and means just as much as the food in many cases. Even though the restaurant was busy and had the lively buzz that comes with it, our table was in a great spot, making conversation easy and the atmosphere enjoyable.
The food was exactly what I hope for in Italian dining—fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. Perfectly cooked pasta, balanced sauces, and authentic flavors that reminded me of the kind of Italian cooking I grew up with in New York. Every dish was outstanding, options offered and they were very accomodating with modifications - made suggestions to enhance as well.
It’s worth noting that parking can be a challenge, so plan accordingly. That aside, the night was seamless, and the staff went out of their way to make my birthday feel special in ways that felt genuine and appreciated.
My entire party raved about this place and being that we picked it, sure felt great - nothing worse then choosing a restaurant that falls short of expectations.
I left looking forward to my next visit, confident that the same quality, service, and hospitality will be there when I return.
Great job - keep up the qualities that matter and success will always follow, loved how management also came by and walked around to check on their...
