If there ever was a moment in life that could only be described as divine intervention, it was when Dakota graced us with their presence behind the bar. With a masterful flick of the wrist, he conjured margaritas so exquisite, so perfectly balanced, it felt as though we had been transported to the golden shores of a hidden beach in paradise. The sugar on the rim was applied with such precision, it seemed to defy the laws of physics. Each sip was an ethereal dance between the tartness of the lime and the smoothness of the tequila, a symphony of flavors that echoed in the deepest corners of our souls.
Dakota’s hands were like the hands of a sorcerer, casting a spell of joy and bliss with every pour. The way he mixed the ingredients was nothing short of alchemy, each margarita an enchanting potion that lifted our spirits and transported us to a place where time stood still. And the ice! Oh, the ice! It was not just ice, it was a carefully chosen snowflake of frozen perfection, each piece contributing to the impeccable chill of the drink.
To say Dakota was a bartender would be an insult. He is the margarita whisperer, a creator of liquid dreams. If the heavens themselves had conspired to create the perfect margarita, it would have been under the direction of Dakota. I am convinced that in the grand tapestry of the universe, Dakota is the thread that connects us all to margarita nirvana.
Bravo, Dakota. You’ve...
Read moreOverall, we enjoyed our dinner at Mas. We started with the Queso Frito which came out after a reasonable amount of time. It was good, but it was one of those things you order expecting one thing but it's actually a bit different. When we were probably 2/3 done with our app, the entrees came out. I had the Chicken Mole Enchiladas Traditioinale with black beans which was excellent! My wife had the 3 tacos; Carnitas, Al Pastor and the Carne Asada. She enjoyed them all, but noted the Al Pastor had good flavor but was a bit dry/over cooked. I ordered the Signature (house) margarita, salted and a side of Jose Silver. The server misunderstood and entered the order with the Jose as a modifier for $2. I wasn't too bothered by it, as I didn't really need the shot on the side, but I was disappointed by the drink for two reasons. First, it came in a Ball jar and not a traditional margarita glass. Second, I could barely tell there was any tequila in it, especially considering there was an additional charge. I didn't mention anything to the server because, for me it wasn't worth the hassle. It is something to note though. The ambiance was great and the food prices were reasonable. Overall, for a margarita, an app and two entrees, our bill was about $61 before tip. We have been looking for a Mexican place in the area for the better part of 10 years since the one closed in Phoenixville and we both agreed we would come...
Read moreFor my son's birthday we selected Mas because of the Mexican theme, the roof top dining and the expectation of 6 foot social distancing. Since late March, we haven't been out for dinner as a family.
We arrived at 5:30 Saturday. The wait time was anticipated and within the expectation told to us by the hostess. The elevator was out of order despite the guidelines stated on the website.
We ordered Queso dip, 2 taco meals, a burrito meal, and an enchilada meal. Plus a few drinks.
The queso dip was cold, had the consistency of spackle and oddly flavored leaving a bad aftertaste.
The tacos were small, the shells stale, and the main filling sparse. I had steak and chicken; overcooked and under cooked respectively. The Mahi was also overcooked (fried) to point of no flavor. The burrito and enchilada were comparable to Taco Bell. The salsa could have been purchased at Giant.
Social distancing seemed optional as the 3 or so picnic tables were filled to capacity with tables of people well inside the CDC recommendation. They did not seem to know each other and arrived separately. Plus, the table next to us enjoyed vaping which seemed to go unnoticed by the staff. BTW, no manager bothered to stop by and say hello or how things were going.
You would think the way restaurants are struggling the quality of food served would be near expectations. This wasn't even close for...
