My first experience here, the service was a little slow; didn't get a menu right away and the drink order was slow, but I believe there was a miscommunication and the two working thought the other was helping me. As soon as they realized what happened they were very apologetic and remedied the matter immediately, and comped my drink (though honestly, they didn't have to, they are very nice).
Ordered the rib eye ramen for my entree and the pot stickers for my starter... The kitchen timing was a bit off and the pot stickers came out second. Not a big deal for me, but I mention it as someone who has expedited for the service industry before, so be patient.
The food was worth the minor mix ups:. The pot stickers were delectable and the ramen was amazing. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and the steak was tender and cooked perfectly. The broth is light and tasty and the baby bok choy was cooked through yet still had a bit of crispness. Absolutely perfect.
I have since been back twice within the past couple of weeks, and just writing this i think I'm going to end up there again tomorrow!
Prices are very reasonable, on top of it.
Edit on 6/6/17: I think the place has been open like a month and I swear I have been there at least 7 times. I'm addicted ;_; I need to start ordering something different than the rib eye ramen though! The charsiu is OMG LOVELY....Rai Rai, you should start punchcards LOL
Service has been ON POINT. Love every server there. Love the food. Love everything!
ONLY working point is the kitchen should try to time the appetizers a bit better, perhaps if a customer orders the shumai and a bowl of ramen, ask if they would like the...
Read moreI am a bit conflicted on this one. The atmosphere was ambient and the servers were friendly. Five of us went there on a recommendation and we ordered the Shumai, Mapo Tofu Ramen, Chicken Katsu curry rice, hot and spicy seafood ramen along with more than one BBQ Medley of ribs and chicken. They were really big portions and it appears that they did not have a lunch portion though the prices at lunch are 15% off regular menu price. Due to the large portions, I had so much tofu in the Mapo Tofu dish and the ramen was a little cold on the plate. The medley of ribs and chicken came with 2 scoops of rice and 1 scoop of Mac and cheese which felt like it so out of place on the plate. The Hawaiian BBQ was a bit on the sweeter side and the ribs on the plate were much better than the chicken. Also the ribs were sliced horizontally such that each piece of meat had a bone in the middle with some meat around it. Just different from the traditional ribs you get. It appeared that the seafood ramen lived up to its name of being spicy. The person who had the spicy seafood ramen had sweat beads on his forehead after eating it.
Ideally, I would have loved a smaller portion. The prices I thought were a bit on the higher side even with the 15% off at lunch. I would not go out of my way to have the Mapo Tofu again. We all pretty much felt it was an average experience though we wanted to try some other dish the next time we come by. We’ll be back and hopefully a better...
Read moreI was in town for a conference taking place at West Chester University, and I was staying in the area. I wasn't sure what the food situation looked like in town, but I drove down to an area of the town where there were a lot of different food places within walking distance.
I was surprised to see a ramen & Hawaiian place in such a small town, but was delighted and decided to try it out. I'm glad that I did because I ended up going back twice!
The first time I had the miso ramen and a side of gyoza, and the second time I got the chicken katsu ramen.
Both of the ramens were great, and the gyoza was delicious as well. I wish I could give this a 4.5 rating rather than just a 4 or just a 5, but I'll give it a 4 here.
My only comment, and perhaps this is just my own taste for ramen, was that while the taste was good, and all the ingredients I could've wanted were there too, the noodles were a little undercooked. Maybe undercooked isn't the right word, but they were a little harder than I would have expected for a noodle. Now, perhaps that's just how they make it there and my own preference is different than others. But that's my...
