2024 update: Thank for replying to my post but this occurred 6 years ago. Not sure what specifics I could give you at this point. I will reiterate that I do like this place. The owner was fantastic. But that’s all I have to say. Hopefully the place is continuing to improve its service as West Chester desperately needs more halal restaurants like this.
UPDATE: in the 9 months since this review I have ordered from here several times and can honestly say it hasn't gotten better. On a few occasions my delivery order was either 3+ Hours late or simply never showed up. On one occasion I was told my order was 3.5 hours late because they had to cook the rice. How pathetic! I don't see this business being around much longer unfortunately.
I can tell the owners deeply care about this business. I want all locally owned restaurants to be successful but this place has a ways to go before that happens. I've ordered take out, dine in, and delivery within the past few months. Unfortunately the quality of food did not get better over time. On one delivery, I hadn't received my food in over 2 hours. I called in and apparently the delivery driver called out. Of course no one contacted me about it. Secondly....and lastly, I had a long curly hair in my food. Kebab is an untapped market in west chester but these things quickly turned me off from ordering in the future but if they focus on the small things like, presentation, cleanliness, punctuality then they may have long term success. My message for the owner is LISTEN! Stubbornness is the reason the majority of businesses fail. If your not improving, your...
Read moreThe worst Shawarma place I have ever been to. I would give zero stars if that was an option. Upon entry, it looked sketchy, no stoves running, no customers, and only one girl to take the order. The owner came after 30minutes. I wanted to walk out then but my kids were starving. First of all, the prices are ridiculous. You dont get a good quantity of food at all. It was awful. We ordered a platter with rice. The quality of the rice was bad, no flavor at all and wasnt even hot or even warm. The rice was cold. For $9 you get one maybe two handful of fries. It was enough for one person to eat. Don't even think about getting salad here. On the menu, it is mentioned as Greek salad.. As you can see, the Greek salad is lacking cucumbers, olives, fetaz lemon, pita, oil and vingegar , italian dressing. They dont give you what is mentioned in their menu at all. its just a regular garden salad with saltless, flavorless meat thrown on top. And none of the meat they are using is freshly made. It was all frozen meat. One the way to use the restroom in the back, I saw lbs and lbs of chicken fillets fried and just sitting to the side . Im not even sure how old the meat they use is. The shawarma wrap was just okay. Nothing great. I have nothing good to say about this place. They didnt even take my order properly. It was the worst $100 i have ever spent for food and walked out hungry. Shawarmas are supposed to be filled with flavor. Please re evaluate your menu and food. Its not fair...
Read moreI love Mediterranean food, and keep my eyes open for it whenever I travel. I found Shawarma Kebab on Google, and checked out the menu. I was hoping for a more extensive menu, but since there is limited middle eastern food choices in the area, I stopped by anyway.
The restaurant is small but cozy. The owner cooked and served food. He was extremely friendly, and eager to serve.
He immediately served me Moroccan mint tea. It was tasty and warmed me up on a cold winter's night. I ordered a second one later in the evening.
For dinner, I started with the Lamb-Beef Shawarma along with a side of grape leaves. The lamb-beef seemed to be your typical gyro meat. It was good, but not what makes this place special. The grape leaves were very good, and if I weren't just visiting, I would have ordered more to go.
Since I had skipped lunch, I was still hungry, and decided to have a chicken shawarma wrap. Boy, was I glad I did! It was tasty. Full of the Mediterranean spices I love, and a bit of heat (spicy hot) to top it off. This was the best chicken shawarma I have ever had.
If you ever find yourself in West Chester, PA, and you crave Mediterranean food, stop by the Shawarma Kebab. The selection is limited, but you won't be disappointed. Better to be great at a few things than be mediocre at everything. This place is great at...
