West Chester folks, get off the same old local Italian dining that you can replicate better at home, and DINE OUT HERE! The gentleman hosted us promptly, briefly shared his family culture, and helped us to quickly understand the menu. If you like dumplings, Nepalese or Indian food, and unbeatably fresh, well-balanced cooking with bright flavors, as we do, you'll go WRONG if you DON'T try this food out. The momo are pillowy, silky soft and sumptuous bundles of beautiful goodness. You can get 4 or 6 pieces per order, and we tried ALL of the flavors, and still wanted more, despite being well-satiated. Each kind was incredible. It's surprisingly filling, without any sense of heaviness. I also got a sushi-style wrap; the glazed tofu was...food-dance worthy. We were treated to their in-house iced chai, which is all herbal, and so refreshing (ingredients ideal for digestion, tooš). The house-made sauces were magicš„! They all go great on everything. If you like spicy flavor, get all of them and have fun. We would buy them by the jar if possible. It's a charming and clean little spot worth leaving the well-worn culinary center of town for, I promise. If you have a baby-mouth, be brave, and try it out without the hot sauce. Thank you for such a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe celebrated my birthday here at Momo & Sushi, and I am so glad we did! Kevin took excellent care of us and was so welcoming. We had a lovely conversation with him and his sister. This family owned mom and pop shop is a one-of-a-kind here in WC. I was surprised to find momo's in the area, but I really love them. My sister and I shared the vegetable and paneer momos as well as the rich tomato-based soups, one with chicken and the other with the beef momos. The paneer momos were great and so were the aloo momo samples we were generously given. My sister really enjoyed the chicken momo soup. I personally really enjoyed the vegetable momos with the soup, which was so delicious! We both enjoyed this with the chiyas, which had a notable yet delicate flavor, somewhat reminiscent of chai without the spicy kick. The atmosphere was cozy and although plenty of people were engaged in conversations around us, it felt cheery and vibrant rather than loud. The interior design and beautiful images of the Himalayas are inspiring. We had such a wonderful time and are looking forward to coming back soon. I am grateful for Kevin, this incredible family, and everyone here who makes this place so specialāwhat a joy to support such a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFrom the incredibly humble service to the delectable namesake and finally to the impeccable ambience, Momo & Sushi Cafe is the cafe you never knew you needed in your life.
My husband and I have had a difficult time finding a good Momo (Nepali/Tibetan Dumplings) spot (sometimes a Momo might be too dry or the filling had an odor, but not this place) When my friend recommended this nook, I knew it had to be good. She is, after all, Nepali. However, she did not warn me at how hooked I would be after the first bite.
The server, who shocked me by being the head chef and owner, made some recommendations like the Fat Veggie Roll and my word, my husband and I both paused, looked at each other and we just knew. It. Was. Amazing. Without saying a word, we just knew that this would not be our last visit here.
We also had the Chicken Momo Soup, which was an explosion of flavors. The juicy Momo mixed in with a delicious soup base, was everything. It was hearty and wholesome. Just what you need!
If you can make it to West Chester, run, don't walk, to Momo & Sushi Cafe. In fact, I would take it so far and say this is worth an hour drive. Do it....
