Potbelly — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

I don't frequently eat at the Pot Belly location on Roosevelt in the Southloop and now I know to keep it moving when I am in this area and want a sandwich. I purchased a Big AND a Skinny with chips, so my bill was close to $30 and I tipped because tipping is very important to me, plus the associate were nice with their customer service. I did not get a chance to eat until much later after my purchase as I had massive errands and wanted to wait to relax to enjoy my sandwich. To my utter DISPLEASURE the associate who made my sandwich added onions after SEVERAL TIMES OF REPEATING to him NO, NO, NO ONIONS! I ABHOR the taste of onions and I can not just take them off as you all know they left an everlasting taste on the entire food. What's the most DISTURBING is I paid EXTRA for bacon that was NOT DONE on my sandwich!!! I used to work in Nutrition for the City and anyone working with food is supposed to be TRAINED on food safety and the illnesses one can cause when serving RAW FOOD, especially to certain age groups! I am livid with the fact that I waited all day to eat just to open a sandwich that was made improperly AND WITH RAW, NOT THOROUGHLY COOKED BACON!! See the attached pictures! I went there Sunday October 5th 2:00 pm , to pick up delivery order , there were 2 guys behind the counter, they were serving one couple “only one customer” it was not busy at all even behind the counter you could tell they have not couple orders, I went to the young one and asked him very politely about my order , he did not even show any response and left me, I told myself maybe he got it, i stepped back and just waited for him about 15 minutes, and when I felt he was just neglecting me I went to the older guy, to ask him about the order, excuse me sir, I’m asking for order Andy , in very politely quite way, he looked at me and said , why you look like that? The question shocked me but in very calm manner I said look like what ? ! I feel horrible for writing this review because I generally love Potbelly’s. The food is great they’re clean. I have no problems with them, but today 06/04/2025 I walked into this Potbelly’s on Canal and I have to say I had the worst experience there. Not only did the sandwich maker not greet me-she wasn’t smiling and she wasn’t pleasant. She treated me as if she was irritated with my presence there. I’ve been going to Potbelly’s for years, and I know for a fact that that is not allowed. Then she got my order wrong and then had a bad attitude because I corrected her. This interaction with her irritated me so bad that I turned around and walked out of the establishment. The most irritating part was that I was craving Potbelly’s and I ended up just going to Subway across the street. I had to beg Subway to make my sandwich barely even close enough to my normal Potbelly sandwich. I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to this location.
