Loved the venue and the DJ spining classic yatch rock and Jazz. Punch house has that feel of a speakeasy from the past. The drinks were presented beautifully and tasted just as delicious. The food, however, was not the stand out of the night. We ordered the wings and fries, the fries were delicious and paired perfectly with the garlic aoli. The wings were dusted with sugar and other spices, the sugar overpowered the rest of the seasonings and aside from the dust on the chicken, they greatly lacked flavor. We were disappointed. But we came for the DJ and drinks and was not disappointed in those departments. I recommend for a chill night with good drinks and vibes. Just, maybe, eat before you get there

Great cocktails, good beer selection, ambitious desserts (OR probably bad - the one we got was a bit too abstract, and we didn't want to eat it, or look at it), service was friendly. They seem to be cooperating or definitely friendly with gentrification of this neighborhood. A Black Lives Matter tag was defaced and someone wrote "All Lives... ", now it's not like it was an employee necessarily, but it illustrates what kind of people you'll find here, and this someone is displacing folks from their neighborhood and community.

Visited 3/10/2023. The drinks, food (except the wings) & ambience was very good. Didn't realize it was a Speakeasy so that was a nice surprise. Side Note: I'm not familiar with the Pilsen area so I wasn't prepared for the lack of available parking...drove around for about 15min before finding one about a 10min walk away. I liked the place enough to want to visit again but unfortunately the parking will be a deterrent for me unless I I find parking a ways away somewhere, then Uber/Lyft to there.

Punch house is not the same after covid. They are trying but something is missing. Yes things change but the change that currently stands is not it in my opinion, at least for me. There use to be a charm to it, I think it was the employees that use to be there. The ones there now aren't bad but idk it's not the same and I didn't even know the previous ones that well. Anyway drinks: their selection is Okay. I found it hard to find a favorite even before covid. Although I did have 1 favorite. "The Zombie" Yes it's me the Zombie person. I keep mentioning that drink for a reason darnit, I was good! Why it got removed I don't know but communication would be nice. The Punch house use to be my go to in the neighborhood now I feel like it's eh you know? Anyway vibe is cool chill whether u go alone or with others. I use to go alone all the time. Music is decent depending when you go they have different music nights etc. They Punch house definitely can improve in some way but for now it is what it is. A bar with decent Punch drinks that are decently strong. IF you want to know how strong Punchhouse drinks use to be for $11, head to Ludlows liquors on the north side, get the Pomegranate margarita....

I visited your establishment a few weeks ago and tipped $300, which processed without issue. However, when I returned on September 18th, the bar manager confronted me in an aggressive manner, accusing me of committing fraud by disputing those charges with my bank. I was confused and had been drinking, so I struggled to understand what he was talking about. Despite my repeated statements that I had not disputed anything, he continued to press me for answers, implying that I wasn’t being convincing enough. I felt frustrated and disrespected; I shouldn’t have to explain myself. I will be consulting a lawyer regarding this matter, as I believe I was wrongly accused. The manager, whom I believe is named Jose. I still tipped 50$ when I left today and the payment went through.

Update: I reached out to my bank, and they assured me that there was no dispute on their end. It’s completely unacceptable that I was harassed in the establishment over a nonexistent issue. My bank is willing to participate in a three-way call to resolve this miscommunication. It’s outrageous to accuse a regular customer, especially when there have been no problems for the months...

I really like place. It's BELOW Dusek's and the serve (you guessed it!) Punch!! Spiked punch. The punch is great, made fresh each day (tge bartender told me) by the folks who work there. My favorite is Gin Tea Punch which comes with a citrus rind and tastes soooo fresh. I'm also a lightweight, so one $8 glass of punch is enough for me. They have fun vintage glassware, which I was told had been collected for years. I think they're adorable.

They offer bar snacks, a juicy lucy burger, and some dessert down there as well. The cheese pretzel is rreaally good.

It's very dark down there and it fills up fast. Turn over isn't too quick at the booths which appear to seat up to 6 or 8? Especially if they've ordered a bowl of punch. The music was too loud for me, last time, but maybe because I wasn't sitting close to the people I brought. Oh! And a cool huge fish tank, to make you feel nautical as you sip spiked punch.

Everyone on staff is very nice. They are alllll very knowledgeable. Ask them some questions, the place has...
