Last night, I embarked on a culinary journey courtesy of RAMEN-SAN Whisky Bar, as I eagerly embraced the art of chopstick mastery through a delightful Door Dash delivery. My gastronomic adventure featured the dynamic duo of the Fried Chicken Bun and the Shrimp "Caldo" Ramen dish, accompanied by an extra dose of delight in the form of Chicken Gyoza.
The star of the evening, without a doubt, was the Shrimp "Caldo" Ramen—a symphony of flavors and textures meticulously orchestrated in a single, steaming bowl. Nestled within the velvety embrace of the broth were succulent, poached shrimp that danced on my palate with a spicy vivacity. The ensemble of ingredients, including crisp cabbage, sweet onion, refreshing radish, vibrant cilantro, and a zesty squeeze of lime, elevated each mouthful into a harmonious blend of taste sensations.
Speaking of the broth, it was the undisputed champion of the meal. The spicy tang that enveloped my senses was a true revelation, transforming each slurp into a culinary adventure. The broth wasn't merely a backdrop but a starring character, infusing warmth and complexity to the entire dish. It was a symphony of spices, a dance of flavors that lingered in the bowl, leaving an indelible mark of satisfaction.
As for the Fried Chicken Bun, it was a delightful prelude to the main act. The crisp exterior of the bun gave way to a succulent, perfectly seasoned fried chicken that served as a prelude to the gastronomic marvel that awaited in the ramen bowl.
In a culinary world that often delivers the expected, RAMEN-SAN Whisky Bar manages to stand out with its creative and expertly crafted dishes. Each bite was not just a feast for the taste buds but a celebration of culinary ingenuity, a testament to the mastery of flavors that the chefs at RAMEN-SAN Whisky Bar have undoubtedly attained. Whether you're a ramen aficionado or a curious epicurean, this experience is not just a meal—it's a culinary adventure that beckons you to savor every moment.
I highly recommend the dish I had. This was a 10 out of 10 Door Dash delivery...
Read morei am so pleased and still honestly a little stunned with my recent service at ramen san in fulton market. one of my and my boyfriends fave spots to eat is ramen san, we have been going for years now and its definitely turned into one of our tried and true options over the years. we specifically usually dine at the lincoln park location but had been in the area and stopped in one late rough night and had been disappointed that night, though we understood we came in late. we had left a private review voicing our complaints and the staff were more than professional and caring as they urgently responded to our displeasure, with a Sahana Gopal helped arrange a night where they very graciously offered to make it up to us, which we had taken them up on. when we came for our friday night reservation, the staff were all incredibly attentive and polite and had gone above and beyond to make up for the experience. it was a little shy for us at points but we were incredibly grateful for the lengths the staff and management had gone to in order to rectify the previous experience. i got to have the shibuya shuffle again which was a delish drink i had the first time that i honestly couldnt stop thinking about irregardless for days on end. very lovely smooth banana matcha drink, while he had some sakes. everything was really quite very good and our previous waitress ( i believe her name is SJ oe Esje ? my apologies i missed it :( )had been our waitress once more and again was extremely kind . we had such a good time and again we are so grateful to all the staff and especially SJ/ Esje and Sahana for again truly going above and beyond. i know ill prolly end up bringing a friend by next time i find myself down in fulton market :) thank you all again for such great service and...
Read morei stopped by on sunday for lunch and it was not that crowded— my friend and i were seated immediately on a long high top table. the interior vibes are very cute and trendy with a spacious bar area and soft yellow lighting throughout. the service was excellent— friendly and very attentive.
if you’re here for lunch, i highly recommend the express lunch deal (available between 12-3pm). it’s $15.95 for your choice of ramen and rice bowl, a small salad, and small marinated cucumber pieces. for the amount and variety of food provided, it’s a good deal and also ideal if you’re like me and chronically indecisive about ordering and want to try as many things as possible.
for the ramen, i ordered the classic tonkotsu ramen and for the rice bowl, i got the karaage chicken. the bowls came on a bento tray and were presented beautifully:
tonkotsu ramen: the ramen broth wasn’t as flavorful as i wanted, but it was still pretty rich, creamy, and satisfying overall. the noodles had a nice chewy and fresh texture. the pork was also excellent: soft, well-cooked, and it just fell apart and melted in the mouth so effortlessly.
karaage chicken rice: the chicken was a little soggy and could have been crispier— but it had a good flavor profile and the chicken inside the fried exterior was tender and juicy.
overall, the prices here aren’t cheap, but reasonable. there are many cheaper ramen spots out there in chinatown and elsewhere, but for the west loop area, the excellent service, and cute vibes (and relative to all the immediately surrounding ramen places in the area), the prices are not bad and...
