12/9/2023 We celebrated my in-laws 50th anniversary at Salerno’s. The only complaint I don’t have is about the food. “The food was good” The service from upper management was garbage. I originally booked the party room with a lady name Connie. I was under the impression that booking a party package we would have the room private to ourselves in back and that was not the case. The restaurant manager constantly kept looking towards our table and nodding his head when he seen we were still eating. At one point we even seen him throw his hands in the air of aggravation because all along they had another party booked for that table. We had a two hour limit that was never told to me from the beginning. We rushed cutting our cake and didn’t even get to order a bottle of champagne to toast for their anniversary. The stares were extremely uncomfortable for us and it was a very unwelcoming feeling. This place is not what it use to be. This is the second time we have encountered the rude manager and this is the last time we will ever step a foot back in this establishment. We paid a lot money for this dinner so we didn’t deserve to be rushed out the way we were. Never again will Salerno’s get a...
Read moreLove this place. Got hooked to this place on Howard Street in Rogers Park. I've had a favorite restaurant in Belmont/ Craign neighborhood since I was 18 and am 60 yrs old now. Recently that restaurant changed hands and food got bad. Decided to try Salerno love it more then another restaurant I always ordered from for over 38 yrs. Pizzas are very tasty and filling. I love their thin crust pizza available on request for no extra charge. Extremely generous with their toppings and cheese. Because of generous toppings you could order one size smaller. But never do great for leftovers or breakfast. Drivers are great. Average delivery time but usually always faster delivery then promised. And piping hot. Their boneless wings with their whiskey hill bbq sauce are the bomb. Give them a try u won't be disappoint. Some might think prices are a little light but so worth it. Also their Italian Beef sandwich and appetizer platter of mozzarella sticks, fried mushrooms, onion rings and french fries. THE BEST! Better then Alberto's which is also popular in the...
Read moreI've been eating at a Salerno's off of Grand & Racine for several years now and absolutely loved them. I've had the pizza, pasta and other menu items at that location. So now that I live on the far north side, I decided to order from this location. I don't know if these are owned by two different owners, families or what is going on but the food did not compare. They pretty much had the same menus but when I got the menu items I usually get, the quality and flavor did not compare. I love the arrabiata and meatballs at the Grand & Racine location where each meatball is the size of a tenis ball and you can tell they're homemade by the flavor and texture, however at this location they tasted and had the texture of frozen meatballs for restaurants. The sauce didn't really have a flavor either, just a little "spicy" kick. My boyfriend got the vodka sauce pasta which lacked some flavor as well and the sauce to pasta ratio was a little exaggerated. It wasn't the worst Italian food, but I wasn't satisfied like I usually am when I go to the...
