Just got back here after the remodel. Looks great inside, basically a cleaned-up version of what was here before (if you've never been, it's a classic "neighborhood corner bar" vibe). Nothing new or offensive to old-timers. Beers on tap are (currently) all $8 except for Old Style ($4). $8 is the new normal, though interesting that the ABVs and sizes are all over the map.
Food menu has been gutted down to Burger, Fries, Grilled Cheese, and Cheese Curds, which is a shame for sure (**editing to note that I just read the menu will be expanding once they get their feet under them!).  We had the cheese curds ($10) and the single Pleaser burger ($8). Curds were fantastic and with the sauce worth the price. Burger was a bit of a letdown, very salty and just tasted mustardy despite it having a house "pleaser sauce". It's served with a little cup of ketchup even if you don't order a side of fries, which makes sense- the ketchup helps even it out a TON. At $8 I'd order it again though. Hopefully they can expand the menu to include some other sandwiches, wraps, or salads after things get rolling here.
Patio was not open when we went, so can't comment on any new setup out there. Though for anyone who's been here before the remodel: Rejoice! The bathrooms are brand new and sparkling!
Overall, it's more of the same, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Douchiest. Staff. Ever. I would give negative stars if possible. Went last night to get a burger and sweet potato fries. The bartender, [I think named Matt?], had zero customer service skills, no please or thank you, and super pushy. He seemed more interested in showing off his full arm tattoos and demonic Heavy Metal shirt, with sleeves cutoff. I asked for the burger with blue cheese? "No, we do not have it," he replied. Could I get avacado on the side? "No, we don't have it." Could I get sweet potato fries, "no we don't have it", can I have BBQ sauce, "no we don't have it." All the items I requested are clearly listed on the Google review recent menu pics. He just didn't want to service me. I ordered a beer, which was Luke warm, not even cold. The atmosphere was terrible, with no lighting, completely dark, and music blaring. When I got home and ate the burger, iI took one bite, t was so salty I almost gagged. The meat was so undercooked it was still raw. I had to heat it up in the oven before I could eat it. The French fries were oily and limp. Miserable experience,...
Read moreBest smash burger I've eaten. Get there early. Like early early. I heard about this place on social media and decided to check it out on a Friday evening at 6pm. Due to regulatory reasons I assume, you'll need to find a seat either indoors or out in order to dine in. Seating is first come first serve. Thankfully we were able to share seats at one of the communal tables in their (lovely) patio area out back.
Their burger/fry combo is very reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. The beers are cheap too. To me this is what a neighborhood bar should be like. Affordable food, friendly staff, and come as you are ambiance for all people. By the time we finished our meal, there were about 10 patrons orbiting us to grab our seats. And as we left the bar around 7pm there were about thirty (yes 30) individuals lined up down the street waiting to get in. No burger or neighborhood spot is worth waiting that long for. I suspect this must be a...
