Went with a friend for dinner last night. Standouts to me: Atmosphere and music were great. Flashy without being in-your-face, and lots of nooks for separate parties. As a Millenial, you know I'm into any 80s or 90s throwback. The patio was sadly not open to the public yet. Food was delicious and well-priced for what you got. The wings were interesting, smoked-but-crispy, though they need some sort of sauce boost because all I tasted was smoke and heat. The cacio y pepe gnocchi were amazing, even more so that they're gluten free - that's some dark magic right there. Fries were "just right" and helped by the dual aiolis, and more importantly sopping up all the cacio y pepe sauce. EDIT- I had previously said drinks were a down-note here; but after being back a few times, I can say their menu has hit it's stride! They're ex-Moneygun people, so you know they love a big menu, and there's definitely something on there for everyone (personal favorite is the frozen Rum Runner) EDIT- I had also previously said that our service wasn't too great, though maybe it was an off night. Again, after being back a few times I'm confident saying it was an off-night (in fact I don't think I've seen that bartender again š¬). Have only ever sat at the bar, so not sure about table service, but the tenders have always been prompt, helpful, and fun to chat with.
FYI there's some food-based "secret project" type construction in the little spot to the right as you walk in... can't wait to see what they're...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am on a never-ending search for bars and restaurants that can accommodate Celiac Disease (gluten-free, with little to no cross-contamination). I had the pleasure of drinking and dining at Common Decency this past weekend, and although they are new, the experience was incredible from start to finish.
Mark, one of the owners, was our server. He explained that one of the other partners is gluten-free, which is why the menu is Celiac-safe. They do offer regular bread for those who are not gluten-free. No wheat ingredients go into their fryers.
From the food menu, I had chicken wings, fries, simple salad, and the seven layer dip. Iām always so thankful to have FRIES!
From the drink menu, I had the coffee date (espresso martini) and one of the best cocktails I have ever had, the Barbershop Celebrity, which is made with a sticky rice purĆ©e. Itās hard to keep truly gluten-free beers in stock, but Mark found a leftover ghost fish IPA for me to finally try (Iāve been looking all over the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went for a second time and I was surprised how much more I liked it. The meatballs and tres leches cake are SO good, and the gluten free mozzarella sticks are so special! The seasonal G&T was also great.
Previously I had the burger and fries and they were good but nothing special. Also got the barbershop celebrity drink and, and it was a let down (was watery and not very flavorful). Mozzarella sticks are consistently good though.
Iāll be coming back to try other drinks and food, especially because Iām gluten free. There has also been excess seating both times I went on a Saturday night, itās fairly loud music but not...
