Tacombi is an absolute gem! From the moment you step inside, you’re enveloped in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The yellow-tiled bar, open kitchen, and colorful decor create an inviting space that perfectly complements the energy of the food. My visit was nothing short of exceptional, both in flavor and service.
I ordered one of each taco, the avocado tostada, and a horchata, and every single bite was a delight. The food came out as it was prepared, ensuring each dish was fresh and at its peak. While ordering while starving might not be the best idea, in this case, it worked in my favor—I got to savor everything, and there wasn’t a single thing I wouldn’t order again!
The Tacos: Baja Crispy Fish: This taco was perfection. The beer-battered cod was light and crispy, paired beautifully with the creamy poblano mayo, pickled cabbage, and pico de gallo. The freshness and crunch were unbeatable. Beef Birria: Served with a side of consommé, this taco was a flavor explosion. The Jalisco-style brisket, paired with melted Chihuahua cheese, was tender and rich, perfect for dipping into the savory broth. Al Pastor: The marinated free-range pork had the ideal balance of sweetness and spice, complemented by the caramelized pineapple notes. A classic done right. Sinaloa Shrimp: Seared shrimp topped with melted cheese, avocado, and pickled onions—this taco was a beautiful blend of flavors and textures, with a slight smoky undertone. Carne Asada: The sliced steak was juicy and perfectly seasoned, topped with caramelized onions and roasted jalapeños for a kick. A must-try for meat lovers. Pollo Yucateco: The chicken, marinated in a spicy recado rojo, was tender and bursting with flavor. The spices were warm and aromatic without being overwhelming. Black Bean & Sweet Potato: Even as a vegetarian option, this taco stood out. The roasted sweet potatoes and black beans were perfectly seasoned, and the cotija cheese and tomatillo salsa added the perfect tangy finish.
Avocado Tostada:
Crisp, fresh, and satisfying. The tostada was piled high with black beans, pickled red onion, cotija cheese, cilantro, and tomatillo salsa. Every bite was a textural delight.
Horchata:
Smooth, creamy, and refreshing, this traditional Mexican drink was the perfect companion to the meal. Not overly sweet, it was well-balanced and satisfying.
Service & Atmosphere:
The service was impeccable. The staff were attentive, friendly, and efficient. I loved how the food was brought out as it was ready, allowing me to enjoy everything fresh. The ambiance of the restaurant—vibrant, colorful, and casual—made the experience even more enjoyable. Whether you’re dining solo or with friends, this is a space where you can relax and savor every moment.
Tacombi exceeded my expectations in every way. If you’re looking for authentic, delicious tacos and a fantastic atmosphere, this is the spot. I can’t wait to come back and try...
Read moreWe stop in this new restaurant with the expectation to figure out what people say is amazing and we get disappointed because first of all the tacos that very small Mexican style tacos from the street with a small tortilla, but we order one Pastor the pasta was very bad flavor no flavor at all past very burnt meat very Dry. We are in a shrimp taco literally was one shrimp, medium size and half with another one avocado, cilantro, and onions nothing special not very good seasoning. The flavors was missing and the whole taco something they cut. My attention was only one tortilla and each taco with a classic tacos in Mexico. They have two tortillas and anywhere you go in the city, you get two tortillas and one taco we order one quesadilla of Beria the flavor was salty. The tortilla was not even quesadilla was a tostada the console me was salty and missing for flavors they promise to have we order a corn street. Corn flavor was good but too stiff for five dollars our Chata water there was very weak in flavor And for five dollars kinda stiff literally this place need to work on it more and some points of the food because if he do you see the pastor they have and display over there. It was the more ridiculous and no sense piece of meat in the Pastor area I’ve ever seen that pastor display was very bad definitely in my opinion is not worth it to go pay high price for a very mediocre food. The ambience of the restaurant was OK but nothing to make me...
Read moreEdit: I did like this place, but after their pop up. I'll never be back here again!! This was so badly handled. One of their workers (girl with brown short hair) was drunk off her ass. She told us everyone "would get tacos." I was in line at 4:30. And didn't get in at all. I was first in line with my friend to get in next before they shut the door on us at 11 pm. One poor guy drove all the way from Milwaukee to try these tacos, and they wouldn't let him!!! This whole thing was so poorly done. I'm still waiting in line as we speak to try their tacos, and I'm too committed at this point. I don't even care what they taste like anymore! I chose to wait in line, but the thing that makes me angry they should have let the rest of the line go at 9pm, they knew they wouldn't have been able to accommodate everyone. They had no respect for peoples time!! We all could have left and gone to places that were still open for dinner. There are people in line right now who took today off of work to come back!!
Loved this place. The tacos were good! I had the Birria taco and the Al pastor taco. The Al Pastor was a bit dry, but all the delicious hot sauces helped. I also used the Birria consume, and that was really nice with it as well. The staff was great they were really sweet and friendly. And I loved the sink in the restaurant where you can go and wash your hands....
