My experience at this bar was in the late 70s and early 80s. My husband, Michael and his partner Micky owned this place when my husband was in medical school. There was one of many brawls here that were just hilarious. One in February when the entire bar cleared into the street and “dibs” chairs were thrown everywhere. The police showed up and everyone was back in the bar like nothing happened. It had a liquor rack over the square bar. There was a neighborhood Elvis impersonator dancing on the bar. A family friend took me here when I moved to the neighborhood almost 3 years ago and I remember the owner bringing me out a shot to welcome me to Bucktown. It's been my go-to neighborhood bar ever since and my boyfriend and I love it so much. The owners and staff are the best! Everyone is welcome here and doesn't have the "regulars only" attitude that I've experienced at other little neighborhood spots. It's a dive, but not scummy or dirty. A dive bar with darts. My favorite part about this place is that the bar is in the center of the room, and wraps around, which makes it so patrons face one another, and helps bring everyone together. The regulars here get their caricatures on the wall, most of which are funny and cute.

The only downside is that the dart setup is terrible. Right next to the door, with messed-up old boards. If you're looking for a serious dart bar in the area, better head to Lucky's...
