Mattress Firm Elston Avenue — Hotel in West Chicago Township

I’m Raymond, for some reason this review is showing up under my girlfriend’s name. Imagine waking up every morning with a stiff body and always tired because you did not get a good night’s rest. That was the story of our life. So one Saturday morning we both decided to get up early and do a little shopping. We did not imagine we would be buying a mattress but we wanted to go window shop around and see what was available. We went to Michael's then on our way to target we saw a mattress firm right between starbucks and the value city furniture. We decided to stop in a see what they had, by no means were we trying to actually purchase anything. When we walked in we were greeted by Marco. I had no idea he was the store manager. He told us to look around and make ourselves feel comfortable. He allowed us to take our time and advised us to feel like we were at home. He told us we spend a third of our life on a mattress and its only right that we treat the process as though we were home and actually laying on one. So during our window shopping venture we were trying out mattresses here and there. We had no idea which one was right. Marco helped us narrow down our search and told us to rate each experience with each mattress on a scale of 1-10. All the while during our indecision he was helping out the other customers in the store. He was very professional and positive and allowed us to take as much time as we needed (about 1 & 1/2 hours we were there) he did not pressure us and in fact told us to take our time to be sure since this was an important decision. At last! Both my girlfriend and I found the one. The one mattress we both enjoyed (during this time he was able to not only assist us but also assist two other customers through their entire process and throughout the whole time he was very professional and helped us in our process). We are your average couple trying to make a living and get into our career paths so by no means are we wealthy or even middle class so to buy a mattress out right was out of the question. Marco assisted us with a great and affordable financing option! Oh and did I mention that it was 0% apr for 12months! I know most people would be like, “well thats standard” but we are also building our credit and finding affordable financing options can, at times, be difficult. When all was said and done we walked in with no intentions of buying anything and walked out with a great mattress two phenomenal pillows that are top of the line a mattress cover and box spring. Not only did Marco assist us with everything and allow us to make our decision in a comfortable environment without us feeling we were even speaking with a salesman but he also gave us a great deal and provided us with Mattress Firm’s “Red Carpet delivery” and scheduled our delivery for the next day free of charge! I have to say it was the best experience I ever had purchasing anything and it felt natural and organic. I will definitely be suggesting this particular Mattress Firm to anyone of my friends and I suggest that anyone looking to buy a mattress go here and ask for Marco. I don’t ever write reviews, if I have a good experience I keep going if not I stop, simple! This evening I had to spend the time and write this.

I have been a big fan of Mattress Firm, spend over 3000 the past few years on a tempur-pedic mattress, protectors and many pillows. Given my good experience we decided to stop this evening by this new store to check out the latest mattresses since we decided to upgrade from queen to king.

Upon arrival, we quickly noticed the pushy sales man attitude (Jim), but that is fine, not the issue, then pushy tuned into cooky and extremely rude that we felt uncomfortable very quickly and thanked him and left the store. The conversation went relatively OK until he asked me when was I planning on purchasing the mattress, here is how it went:

Jim: just want you to know the sale ends Sunday, when are you planning on buying?

Me: cool, in 4 to 6 weeks, we just ordered the new king bed (currently have a queen) and the guy at the furniture store told us 4-6 weeks, I’ll probably try to put my queen bed frame on craigs list in the meantime to sell it

Jim: Who is going to buy a used bed in this time of the year, can’t you just take the bed to a different room.

Me: I only have one room, and even if I did I can’t put my new mattress on the floor

Jim left us and went to his desk, we assumed he went to get us a brochure or something, so we proceeded to test out the 2 mattresses we liked the most to make a final decision.

Me: Ok so what was the final price with the sale for this mattress

Jim: I’m not going to tell you the price, I already told you, you need to take pictures of what you like so you don’t confuse yourself, in fact you are now confusing me too, you just told me you will not buy the mattress for another month, first you say it’s firm then you say it’s not as firm, if you are not buying today I’m not giving you the price

Please note: the entire thing happened in less than 10 mins, we did not over stay our welcome and were very nice to him the entire time, even when we talked out.

Jim is not a respectful person and if I were mattress firm Corp office reading this I would look into this store ASAP and make sure this young kid does not continue to rub this company from good sales with his condescending demeanor.

Well I had much better experience across the street from the other mattress firm, but this is it for me, mattress firm credit card already closed. Good luck to you, keep up the good work and please hire good people to keep your good reputation, a sales person is what the customer remembers and the experience the customer has effects recommendations to...

My husband and I had a great experience at Mattress Firm with JJ! We went this past Sunday and we haven't ever gone in person to try mattresses before so it was nice that JJ and Marco were super friendly and easy going. We didn't expect to buy a tempur-pedic mattress and power base, but they were so nice and comfortable. As someone with chronic pain, I really wanted to get something that would be good for my body and JJ made sure to show us and tell us all the things about it and even referenced her own experience since she also owned the both. We didn't feel pressured at all during the visit, which was much appreciated (that was something I was nervous about). It was a lot of money but JJ kept searching to maximize our savings. We were hesitant about the base due to the price, and JJ and Marco found one that was an outlet price and it was a huge price difference. I really appreciated how above and beyond JJ was going for us (and even though Marco wasn't directly facilitating everything for us, he was still answering questions and helping us out). Since we got a new mattress, it came with $300 towards accessories, so we got to get a mattress protector and a new pillow which was a nice bonus. I also felt prepared since JJ was telling us how long it takes to break it in, and was giving us tips about the warranty/return if we ever do want to use/do that. Delivery was so quick, that we could have gotten it the next day, but we were able to choose to get it on Tuesday instead. Delivery was easy and we have been enjoying our new bed and base since then!
