Ordered a Chicken Pad Thai. I’ve visited many Thai places in Illinois, but no one them smelled like dog food. The taste was so bad and smelled like you were in a farm or dog food factory. I couldn’t eat it. I’ve never been in a situation where I could not eat my dish. I felt bad because the staff was super friendly. My fiancée’s dish was also not seasoned. We unfortunately had to tell them to take my plate back because it wasn’t edible to me. I’m upset because although I was didn’t eat it, they charged me for the plate. I don’t recommend this place.
Edit! Replying to their response:
As I mentioned, I have been to many Thai restaurants all over Illinois and none of them have ever tasted like this one. I also think the way you are responding is extremely unprofessional and rude. I’ve seen your other responses and none have been like this one. You are also making mostly false claims on your part besides the time frames (since you clearly took time to look at camera footage). I was also not in a bad mood, I had a great day with my fiancé that day. I was not mean to your server either. Check your cameras I smiled at your staff and was thankful since we arrived at the restaurant. I was never rude to the server even after the fact, I kept saying sorry that I didn’t like it. I am just simply explaining my experience. I don’t think I should have paid for a plate that was not edible. Therefore, I am not sure that you know how to handle being in the food industry or working face to face with customers. I was never offered a different plate or to have it taken back or a refund. Please don’t make assumptions saying that I was forced to eat Thai. You have no idea what you’re talking about as I am the one that chose your restaurant to begin with. My favorite food and experiences before this one have been with Thai. Thai is not even my fiancé’s favorite food. We BOTH ate my fiancé’s plate and the crab Rangoons, I would re-check your cameras and stop making false accusations. My fiancé never said that I wasn’t familiar with Thai to your server either. You are lying and not reading my review clearly in order to make yourself look and feel better. I also want to clarify that the bad reviews I’ve made are not all about restaurants. I have 5 good reviews and 4 bad ones and 2 of the bad ones were a Mechanic and Makeup Artist (not restaurants). They were my experiences and I have no reason to lie about them. I mentioned the staff at your restaurant were extremely nice and I felt bad that I didn’t like my dish. But please don’t lie and make assumptions, you are making yourself look worse. Google reviews are meant for customers to leave honest reviews and that is what I did. I am not exaggerating, my fiancé was the one that brought up the smell of my plate and made the statement that it smelled like dog food. I wasn’t even sure what I was smelling until he mentioned it. You need to reconsider if being in the customer service industry is actually...
Read moreThis restaurant saved our very souls, or at least, our hungry stomachs - we were EIGHT people visiting the area for the Bucktown Garden Walk, and it was very hot, and we were pretty hungry. They were able to accommodate our large family (including two toddlers), at peak lunchtime, with no advance notice.
The service was friendly and personable. Seems it is a husband and wife team running this place. The food tasted so homemade, and fresh, and delicious. I have eaten at a lot of Thai restaurants, and in Thailand, and this was a standout. The only downside was that they didn't have any beef the day we went, and I really wanted a beef salad. They were able to sub in the protein of my choice (I went with tofu), and it was still pretty good. My husband adored his khao soi, as it's a dish he fell in love with in Chiang Mai. My mom could not stop raving about her Pad Kee Mao, and sister loved her Panang curry. Those were the standouts, but everyone loved everything they had at the table.
It does seem like they were pretty popular for takeout (hence, how we got a table), but I think they deserve to be even more popular still. If you love Thai food, you will find a lot to love...
Read moreMy family and I had dinner here a few nights ago, and I rarely leave reviews, but this place absolutely deserves the praise!
From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome, providing friendly and attentive service throughout our meal.
Their Thai food is easily the best Thai cuisine I’ve had in the area. Every dish was packed with bold, authentic flavors and cooked to perfection.
One of the highlights of the meal was the papaya salad. It was bright, refreshing, and had just the right level of spice, with a perfect mix of crunch and bold flavors. The spring rolls were light, crispy, and filled with fresh ingredients, making for a great appetizer. It tasted just like something you’d find in Thailand, which is hard to come by!
You can really tell that the chefs put care into every dish, and the experience, from food to service, was top-notch.
If you’re looking for incredible Thai food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, this is the place to go. We’ll definitely be...
