So far, coming to Hyper is a mixed experience. The staff have never been rude, maybe sometimes a little blasé, understandably everyone is just working their job. The one main criticism would be communication between the one taking orders and the Energista (love the name unironically). Sometimes you don’t know if the one making your order is going to be the one that one who took it. I, as a coffee drinker, am a little ridiculous about customizations, and I don’t know if the Energista is able to see the customizations aside from word of mouth from whoever plugged in the order. It seems like a recall from memory rather than an available summary for the Energista. I get a little self-conscious about reminding the people in the window because it makes me worried that I’m annoying them. My goal for every time I come to Hyper is to try a new coffee, make my personal notes about what I’d need to enhance the flavors and customize for next time. This means playing with the syrups and making those requests. I haven’t been to all locations, just two, and overall they’ve been socially positive experiences, but this is the one system constructive criticism I have. I hope this is...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer of Hyper for a long time and consistently tip well because I’ve always appreciated the service—until today. When I pulled up to the drive-thru, the barista abruptly slammed open the window and, without any greeting, told me I needed to slow down in the road outside of the property. I was going 10 mph, which is entirely reasonable—my car is just loud.
She then stood there staring at me in silence, clearly waiting for a reaction, which I chose not to give. After an uncomfortable pause, she finally asked what I wanted to order. The interaction was cold, unprofessional, and completely out of line. Being a server myself I can’t even fathom giving this type of service.
This is the first time I’ve ever left without leaving a tip. I truly hope this employee is coached on how to speak to customers respectfully. I love Hyper, but this experience was...
Read moreI’m usually the type of person that once I find a drink I like, I always order the same thing. Not at Hyper! Every drink is delicious and it’s fun to switch it up. I’m not scared to try something new there because every recipe is delicious. The customer service is amazing. The staff is always so friendly and hard working. I was there today and they were having some technical issues, but everyone working was still positive and in what was a stressful situation, they didn’t let their frustrations show and still took care of customers professionally. On Wednesdays, they donate money on orders of the pink survivor drink to cancer patients. I would much rather go get myself a hyper than a Starbucks. It seems like the company cares about their local community and strive to give back. Thanks Hyper! Keep up...
