Have been to Blaze Pizza several times and this was by far the worst experience. We usually frequent the one in Valley West Mall and always receive exceptional service and the pizza is always on point. This location was close by where we were at and decided to stop and dine in. The customer service was not up to par. We were greeted by a young girl who was nice but seemed to worried about flirting with the guy behind her pressing the pizzas. We sat there waiting awkwardly until they pressed the pizza and moved on to cheese & sauce. While waiting we had to overhere a young girl complain how long she had been working all day. Once we got to the toppings part, we had to meticulously watch her place each tomato and mushroom perfectly on the pizza. Some people may like this, but to me it doesn’t make a difference and is a huge waste of time. Once my pizza got done I went to the register to wait for my husband to get done so we could pay. I said hi to the young girl at the register and she didn’t even acknowledge me. Once my husband got to the register he said hi as well and she didn’t even acknowledge him either. It was an awkward encounter to say the least. She looked less then thrilled to be there. Our pizza turned out good although mine was a little burnt on the edges. Also, they didn’t have on the menu the extra upcharge for the high rise dough. This wasn’t a problem for us, since we already knew there was an upcharge. But, for someone who hasn’t been here they would have no idea there is an extra charge for the high rise dough. I’ll give it a few months before I come back and the staff to get into the swing of things. Besides customer service, the food is good and I would recommend...
Read moreI visited this location on Saturday, August 10, after checking out my purchase. I noticed several flies flying around the kitchen near the brick oven. Near the finishing area, there was a pan, a pizza wheel, and an empty pizza carton box. Flies were flying around, and, on the items, which public health officials would consider contaminated and any tidy individual. I informed the employee, a tall white male with a red hair that there were flies on the pizza, the carton box, and the cutter. I was utterly disgusted of this situation; however, he was very nonchalant about it and didn’t take any action.
Meanwhile, my pizza was in the oven, so I asked him to change the cutter and the box he had placed out for my pizza. He had such an attitude about changing the box and the pizza cutter. If he had not changed them, I was going to ask for my money back., however the other contaminated iron pan and pizza cutter remained on the counter, and no action was taken. Anyone who had pizza that afternoon, that Saturday, was served pizza with flies flying around it and on it. This is unacceptable and disgraceful. At the very least, take action and clean the utensils and countertops and try to get rid of the flies instead of letting the flies contaminate the pizza. You may think it's acceptable for flies to land on food and utensils, but others do not. It’s disgusting. Have some respect for your customers and...
Read moreThe pizza is good, if a little pricey (I prefer the High Rise crust, which is an extra $2) - I usually end up taking half of it home though and get a second meal out of it.
The eating area is usually pretty clean, although the seating choices constrict the amount of seating available - they have several huge booths (for 8-10 people) and a number of high-top tables.
We have to talk about the wait though - when we go here for lunch we CONSISTENTLY have to wait in line for 20-25 minutes before we can even start into the assembly line of configuring our pizzas. No, it's not because they're so busy that it's just a backlog (which would be understandable) - it seems be more of an efficiency issue. I think online orders screw up their staffing levels due to needing someone mostly-dedicated to that and there are times when I see someone off in the corner making dough that should be helping make/move pizzas during...
