Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers — Restaurant in West Des Moines

This is chicken! Done right! They dont ruin the perfect chicken with too much seasoning, and the canes sauce is a great replacement, since the only other condiment is Catsup. I was initially shocked they didn't have ranch or bbq. But the signature sauce can replace those; the chicken is so good on it's own you dont even need any sauce! The Lemonade tastes like actual lemons instead of concentrate. VERY sweet! Be prepared to wait a few minutes (5-10) for that scalding hot chicken, but it's worth the wait! Fries are good; real crinkle cut potatoes are used. The chicken is so tender and juicy, its flavor cannot be expressed in words. If you enjoy good, unadulterated chicken, stop in and grab a couple fingers! They're $1.25 each on their own, and a couple is enough for a perfect snack! While there isn't an abundance of options, they make up for it with the quality of what they do offer!

Update: 7/2019: Still every bit as good as they day they opened, and although the fingers have gotten somewhat smaller over time, their quality still makes this the best chicken around! Staff is always friendly, prompt, and courteous. Wait times are much shorter these days, in fact its impressive how quick they can keep the food coming, they have a great team. Canes Chicken West Des Moines Iowa Very busy on a Sunday. Drive thru was hopping.

Inside there were a plethora of employees. It was very loud inside. So loud that I had a very tough time hearing the young man at the counter.

I ordered a 3 piece with well done fries. The order came out fast , clearly too fast for well done fries. I took the order back and rather than asking me if I wanted to keep the chicken and bread and they would bring the well done fries out they were going to dump it all. I got another basket and kept that part of my meal.

I should note that I’ve eaten at many Canes. I say well done and they call it back crisp, they come out “ fresh” but not well done every time.

Eventually I got them to well done after a bit of attitude by a young person who appeared in charge. As I walked away they were talking about me- unprofessional.

Overall the food ended up good.

The location was well lit but it was very loud. It Could use some sound deadening materials in the design.

The floor was dirty and many areas had debris on it. Many tables were dirty and the ones that weren’t dirty had smears from being wiped with an unclean towel or sponge.

i love canes. canes is one of the only things bringing me joy in my life. because of this i am filled with darkness and sadness because of what i just experienced tonight. i had driven 4 hours today and all i wanted was a sandwich combo with a lot of canes sauce. with every mile closer i got to canes my heart rate went up with excitement. my heart was beating out of my chest when i finally pulled up to the warm comforting lights of the drive through. i was even excited to see that the line was short and my wait for happiness was going to be short. i cannot describe to you the way my heart shattered when i saw a bright orange cone sitting in between me and the speaker that translates my happiness. with confusion i stared at the cone when all of a sudden the warm drive through light turn off and leave me sitting in darkness. i was filled with sadness and confusion as it was only 8 and usually they close at 11. with one last straw of hope i parked and shuffled to the front door, where i saw a sign that brought terrible news. the location is short staffed and closing early. i realize that this is no one’s fault except lazy people not wanting to work but as for tonight i am stripped of happiness and had to...
