Hockey families beware!
Our experience here last night was horrendous. The restaurant was not busy, there was plenty of staff but it was the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in many years. Which is very disheartening as I was so excited to go here. I love a good bierhaus and even more so with a unique menu.
Service - I have never in my life saw a collective group of staff so blatantly treat a group so poorly. Not only individually but as a group often talking about us at the bar with other staff and patrons. Giving nasty looks of disgust. One server (dark short hair) repeatedly asked if we could move from the tables we were at. Saying we would be more comfortable in another spot. But we weren’t uncomfortable so it was very awkward. That same server told us we couldn’t split our bills by family. Challenging us greatly when we said we could just number off. To the point of arguing. He clearly didn’t want to put any effort into us. He also rudely came over and in a condescending tone told us at 9:05pm that they didn’t usually allow kids there past 9pm and it was a city ordinance that they couldn’t be there past 10pm. Ok, but he made it seem like we’d been there for hours and weren’t trying to just get some food after the tournament and go back to our hotel. The food runner all but threw our food on the tables. If you’re going to have metal serving dishes, don’t slam them down on the table. I will give a shout out to Nick though. He took on our table and was pleasant despite having a bunch of other tables. My only complaint on him was that he took the adult orders and not the kids. So we had to rush to get kids food in.
Food - Overall disappointment in that we ordered an exotic sausage platter for my family and the sausage was very over cooked. Dry and lacking at that point of overcooking. We like to try different and unique foods and make our own sausage so this was underwhelming. I did love the presentation though of the platter. Pretzel was good though.
We are in Fargo for the Squirt International tournament and felt this restaurant actively hated having hockey...
Read moreBeen here before and it was amazing. Wanted to go again for a date night. Sat down. Got greeted not too long after and got some waters and asked for a few minutes to look more at the menu. We sat there ready to order for a half hour meanwhile our server walked by us several times. From the looks of it all the other tables she went to were payed out and she was just waiting for them to leave to clean off tables. Made eye contact with her several times and saw her chatting and laughing with co-workers. Just before we left she and I again made eye contact and it looked like she was coming over to us but then walked right by us so we left. Ignored every time we tried to get her attention as well. I’ve worked in food for years so I understand long waits and when it gets busy you need to be patient and understanding sometimes it’s so busy that you forget about a table. I totally get that, it has happened to me but this was not that. Her section was nearly empty aside from a table still chatting after being closed out. Looked like a situation I’ve seen before. Servers knowing they’re the next cut and purposely waiting a table out so they can go. Not sure if it was the case for sure. But if you were a gal serving on Saturday night 3/26/2022.. that was our first night without kids in a long time and all we wanted to do was have a nice meal together and we wasted almost an hour of our evening just sitting there after you knew we were there. Wonderful restaurant but disappointed we couldn’t...
Read moreWonderful place! My BF and I have birthdays 1 day apart, so we were spending the day in Fargo celebrating, and we decided to check out the Wurst Bier Hall. We started by ordering great drinks; they have a fabulous selection - awesome variety! He's partial to sours, and I like hard cider. We were not disappointed! Then we ordered the Classic Sausage platter, which allows us to choose 3 different sausages, and then comes with an array of sides/toppings, plus a giant pretzel (to die for! OMG - the pretzel itself is SO good!) Everything tasted amazing, but... there was a mistake on our platter. I really can't stand jalapenos, so we didn't order any sausages with peppers in them. We ordered a bleu cheese, but it was a cheddar jalapeno instead! No worries - our server, Tierah, was THE BEST! She very promptly made sure we got our order corrected. She was terrific in every way - attentive, friendly, knowledgeable about the menu items - perfect hostess! And at the end of it all, we received a birthday treat: a complimentary slice of German kuchen, which I had never had in pumpkin spice flavor - and it was incredibly delicious! I can't say enough good things about this restaurant, the drinks, the food, the service - it was all just the best place for us to celebrate! We'll definitely be back! And we're thinking of all the people that we know would love it - we'll be...
