Not to be confused with Astro Burgers, Astro Burger is a true LA staple that has been around for decades and has served countless patrons at their three locations; this one in West Hollywood, another in Hollywood directly above Larchmont near the Paramount Studios, and another location over in Montebello. It’s a traditional to go burger spot that also has an extensive Mexican menu as well. I know they serve breakfast, but they are most popular for lunch or dinner. This location does not have a drive-through, however, the one on Melrose does. They have a large parking lot attached so parking is extremely convenient and plentiful. It was quite crowded when we placed our Sunday dinner to go order but all the items arrived really quickly and they did not make a single mistake with our order.
I ordered the Avocado Burger, which I thought was really great. I especially appreciated how they gave me a whole half of an avocado, and did not skimp on that at all. I think they added too much lettuce, but that’s more of my personal opinion. We also ordered a BLTA because it’s one of our favorite sandwich orders and it did not disappoint. It comes with a lot of bacon, which was crispy and delicious. We also ordered the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich and it was really good, although I would take off the barbecue sauce. The fries are also really great so I would highly recommend getting them, they are a good mix of crispy and soggy, just needed some extra salt to make them perfect.
Overall a really great burger spot that also has countless other options. It’s cheap, quick, and good so I would recommend...
Read moreOkay look. Let’s get the minor inconveniences out first , there’s not a soda fountain accessible for yourself , so introverts beware. You’ll have to talk to someone for your drink and or refill. There’s not a combo special pricing either. There’s a sign about prices and inflation so I assume they’ve recently restructured prices. I didn’t see a kids option either. Also, they don’t over fill your plate with fries like other burger joints. Everything is purchased separately( ie sides / entres / drinks ).
Now the real true review. This place was open after 11 pm for sit in. Like wow. Amazing. I got a cheeseburger. Cannot speak for the pastrami or chilli items. The burger was a golden light buttered bun with distinguishable delicious cheese and a definitely well seasoned slightly pink patty. I got no thousand but did ketchup and mayo. But what I think actually added the flavor was the grilled onions.
WHAT MADE ME LEAVE A REWIEW was the fact that I love a good burger. But a diner , corner hole in the wall on the grill burger on a sesame seed bun. This place definitely out ranks a few that I’ve been too. Im comparing this location to Orange County locations. I AM NOT A LOCAL and cannot speak on how this establishment compares to comparative establishments of the sort. Nonetheless. This place had exceptional burgers, delicious ranch and friendly employees....
Read moreAstro Burger has been a local fast food place for as long as I can remember. They offer up your standard selection of various burgers and chicken sandwiches, fries, onion rings, shakes etc...They also have a breakfast menu that has some pretty good breakfast items. I am not a vegetarian but I have been told that their veggie burger is quite good. They also have one of the best pastrami sandwiches in this part of L.A. It is greasy but a good pastrami sandwich should be a bit greasy. They have both indoor and outdoor dining areas and the indoor area is fairly large for a fast food joint such as this. Last time I was there they also had free WiFi but I can't say with any certainty that it will be available or working from week to week since usually with a place like this, the WiFi is not a priority to fix if it breaks. The food is decent though and the pastrami and onion rings are worth a visit if you like either one of those. Because they have a large dining area, you will never have to wait for a table to open up but be aware that their parking lot is not that large at all and you may have to get creative with...
