I came to drop off my resume and the woman working told me I have to apply online. I go to apply online and there's nowhere to apply so I call and ask if i'm missing any information. A man answers, and says no we only accept resumes. I say oh, so did she lie? and he just said he doesn't know who I'm talking about. I've had coffee and eaten breakfast here in the past and always enjoyed the food and bev. but the shadiness of protection is weird to me and esp being a minority with tattoos and piercings makes me feel like maybe I wouldn't have been a good fit here but it all just felt really passive aggressive, but also recognizing there's no diversity in staff explains. I don't usually complain about things in reviews but that was a pretty blatant display of prejudice and a genuine waste of my time.
in addition the owner responded to this and clearly disregarded my express of concern. I said I did bring in a physical resume and was LIED to as i was TOLD TO APPLY ONLINE, when I went to go do it, it wasn't an option?. because I didn't know if i were doing something wrong I called to ask for help or guidance. they then completely ignored the fact that their employee denied me a fair labor opportunity, and automatically started blaming me for some reason. "we don't take applications online" is what they keep telling me in response to the complaint and i'm saying then your employee lied to me.
im a full time political science student in my final program earning my BA degree. either your management is lazy, or you profiled me.
I've been polite this whole time even when calling because I was calling for help. it was when you guys started blaming me for no reason where i was like "are you being...

You already have my $20 in your pocket for a couple of small drinks. The coffee just isn’t good, and you’re rated under 4 stars already. I think you and your product might be the common denominator here.
I think it was a nice concept to bring Aussie foods to the area with this cafe. I have never seen Lamingtons or chunky steak pies sold in the States. However, I ordered an iced coffee with vanilla syrup for over $6 and it came out within 30 seconds. It honestly tasted like how I attempt to make iced coffee at home — make drip coffee, put it in the fridge for a few hours, and add milk. Basically, it tasted like old weak coffee that had been left out and it was especially unpleasant given the price.
I can concede that I’ve never figured out how to get iced coffee just right on my own, but you can count on chains like Starbucks to produce ones that taste reasonably strong. Maybe the base coffee needs to be brewed more concentrated and poured hot over the ice to get the right strength. Overall, I was disappointed and would opt to try cold brew or an iced espresso drink next time.
Besides that, there were some dirty dishes left out on the tables and the customer service was pretty detached. There’s nothing wrong with the concept but it really just highlighted for me the cost savings of just making coffee...

Review:
Visited Miss Melbourne Coffee during a recent trip to Hollywood, Los Angeles. The location and ambiance are undeniably impressive; nestled amongst a lively borough, its atmosphere was quite captivating.
I was looking forward to trying their Big Breakfast, considering its reputation. However, the reality was, unfortunately, average. The components of the breakfast were cooked reasonably well, albeit not strikingly. The dish was ample-sized, but for a spot of this renown, the flavors and presentation didn't meet expectations.
The coffee, similarly, didn't quite hit the mark. While it wasn't poor per se and the temperature and consistency were fine, the flavor seemed somewhat lackluster. Considering its name - "Miss Melbourne Coffee" - it falls short of those complex layers of aroma and taste that one generally associates with Melbourne's famed coffee culture.
Yet, the location and setting of the place did provide ample compensation. The café, beautifully set up, is an excellent place to unwind and people-watch in bustling Hollywood. Offering a perfect vantage point to watch Los Angeles' dizzying pace from a serene spot is certainly an alluring quality.
While the standard of food and coffee could have been better, I feel the excellent location and vibrant atmosphere could keep Miss Melbourne Coffee on the map. I hope my next visit sees an improvement in the culinary...
