Came to this new coffee shop after reading the positive reviews, and can say I definitely left disappointed in comparison.
Ordered two different lattes, and while they were some of the âmonthly specialsâ, I donât think any latte should be $9 without being truly amazing or include unique ingredients. Adding syrup and activated charcoal doesnât warrant charging $9 for a coffee drink in my opinion. Both lattes were completely standard, nothing special to remark on â and could easily be found down the street for about half the price.
What was really disappointing was the two toasts we ordered. They were $10 each, and came on one standard slice of bread. When I went to pick them up, I noticed one of the toasts looked like it had an ingredient missing, so I asked the person behind the counter they instantly said âitâs on thereâ. Nope, it definitely was not. And taking the immediate approach of being correct without even checking the plate did not sit well. The other toast we ordered, the âGreekâ, was so salty it was borderline inedible. We had to brush the salt off of the top of every bite we ate, because there were literal MOUNDS of salt on top. So much salt that it was creating piles on top of the food.
For spending nearly $40 for two coffees and two toasts (insane), I canât say there was a single redeeming quality. This experience was definitely a disappointment; will...
Read moreAnother cozy yet aesthetic coffee shop brought into West Hollywood, occupying the space right next to Flippers! Carrying the name Pantheon, not a surprise to see the Romans and Greek touch in the interior. Extra points, some dedicated parking spaces in front of the cafe and swift service getting the beverages ready.
Our options for this first try went to 2 of their signature coffee-based drinks. First cup came in smaller size, the Freddo Cappuccino, which you could picture as your regular cappuccino but with both the espresso and the milk being frothed to light airy texture. Despite the petite size, this cup of joe definitely delivered that extra kick with its bold taste to give you that strong wake up call.
My favorite was our second, the Black Vanilla Latte. Just like how I loved my coffee, the default version of this one came with almond milk and vanilla syrup. They did add charcoal infusion which you'd definitely notice from the color, but I couldn't really tell if it led to any particular taste. I would fancy more vanilla flavor in this cup, but it's still decent iced coffee to enjoy with...
Read moreWe happened upon this coffee house after cancelling brunch reservations nearby, due to the wait. We were so glad to have found this spot during what appears to be a soft launch period. Very happy to support local businesses, especially with such warm service. Sam was fantastic and thoughtful. The chai latte masala was excellent and my partner claimed his cappuccino was above other coffee places in quality. We also shared the Caprese sandwich and the feta/honey toast. These were delicious bites; you could really taste the fresh ingredients. The music was soft/lite European and the space was open and clean. We will definitely be back and recommend others to visit. They have WiFi with purchases so, itâs perfect for working outside of the home on those work from home days⊠On a side note, while we know it was New Yearâs Day, we hope to see more staff working to help with any sudden influxes of patrons, and so that Sam can continue to excel in his role of host (apparently an owner as well). We sincerely hope this place stays in the...
