I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Banana Bungalow West Hollywood Hotel & Hostel on North Fairfax Avenue and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This review is my way of expressing my utmost satisfaction and gratitude to the entire team at Hostile for making my stay truly memorable.
First and foremost, the staff at Hostile deserves special praise. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with the upmost respect and an eagerness to assist with any inquiries or requests. The level of professionalism and genuine hospitality displayed by the staff was exemplary. They were always available, approachable, and willing to go the extra mile to ensure that I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay.
The location, right in the heart of West Hollywood, couldn't have been better. Nestled amidst the city's bustling energy, the hostel and hotel was just minutes away from some of the city's most iconic attractions. It was a perfect base for exploring what West Hollywood has to offer
The amenities provided were excellent. The free Wi-Fi was reliable, and the communal kitchen was well-equipped and clean. The tiki bar was superbly comfortable, fun, and added to the welcoming stay.
The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. The beds were comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep after a long day of exploring the city. The common areas were spacious, inviting, and provided a great atmosphere for socializing and meeting fellow travelers.
One of the highlights of my stay was that they organized various activities and events every other day. Allowing guests to connect, share experiences, and create lasting memories. Whether it was a comedy night, a karaoke night, or some sort of party, there was always something exciting happening at the Banana Bungalow West Hollywood. The sense of camaraderie amongst the guests and the friendly atmosphere made it easy to meet new people and forge friendships.
Lastly, I must commend the value for money that Banana Bungalow offers. Considering the exceptional quality of service, the facilities, and the prime location, the rates were incredibly reasonable. It truly provides exceptional value for budget-conscious travelers without compromising on comfort or experience.
In conclusion, my stay at the Banana Bungalow West Hollywood was nothing short of exceptional. The friendly staff, great facilities, vibrant community, ideal location, and excellent value for money all contributed to an unforgettable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend The Banana Bungalow West Hollywood to anyone visiting Los Angeles. I cannot thank the team enough for their warm hospitality and for creating a home...
Read moreThis may be slightly inaccurate if based on a normal stay but, I am a senior and have stayed at many hostels all over the world. From what I could see, the place looked alright and entertaining. Due to an extremely late flight, I arrived in the middle of the night (3-4 am?) Staff member Michael left me a voice mail while I was on the place that he would stay an hour past his shift, until 1 am because the next shift person hadn't come in. My Lyft ride offered to stay with me but after ringing the doorbell a person (I found out next day, the custodian!) admitted me and checked me in, got my linens and escorted me to the room. Now it was dark and 3 other guests were sleeping so I never saw the room other than it had 3 bunk beds. The mattress was fine and that there was a private bath in the room was very nice. I got a couple hours sleep and was up and took my luggage to the common room. I did look out at the garden area which had a tiki bar(?) and a nice gathering area. There was coffee and snack cakes available in the kitchen. I assume that anyone staying longer could bring in their own food I had to work on my makeup before departing, as I was headed to a film set, and there was plenty of room in that common area with several sofas, chairs and some games.. I wish I could have arrived earlier and experienced more and met other people. I read about some activities, some away from the property which the hotel offers. For me, needing anyplace close to the Lee Strasberg Institute for filming where I could stay, this location was great. Fairfax Ave is a main thoroughfare with buses, it's close to Santa Monica Blvd, close to Hollywood but I can see that unless you have your own transport it might not be close to where others might want to be in LA. Maybe there are other places near the beach or amusement parks, but for the price? I will stay here again or look into the other Banana Bungalow properties (they have several). The cost is so far below what other commercial properties are charging that taking a bus or getting a Lyft/Uber could be worth it. Since I will need to be headed to LA in the future, I look forward to my next visit to...
Read moreI would not recommend this place to anyone. FIRST bad thing is my friend had a very inappropriate guy in in her coed room saying and trying to get her to do gross things with him and no one really seemed to genuinely care about her situation. Second, They don't clean well and the beds looked like they have been slept on previously. They also did not give us linens on two of the three beds in the private room and when I asked for linens they gave me a gross dirty blanket rather than a comforter and one sheet. also the towels had big holes in them and smelled bad. There was very minimal hot water and if you did get hot water it lasted like 5 minutes max. I heard other guests complain about this so It wasn't just my room. additionally, SAFTEY and SECURITY was not very good. other hostels change the door code every morning to ensure no one has the code from pervious stays or that guests don't give them out to people who you would not want coming in, or they give you a key card/key. but this hostel had the same code every single day which is unsafe and its the easiest simple code. The front desk workers seemed like they don't want to be there except for one guy and the whole vibe is just unfriendly. Usually at hostels other guests are hanging out in common areas but they make it so unappealing to come out into the common areas because of how unfriendly the vibe is. They told us when we booked that they offered free breakfast but when we got there they were not doing it anymore due to COVID. I have stayed at other hostels during COVID recently and all of them still had free breakfast. It would have been good to know before booking since I was traveling on a budget. The only good thing about this place is in the private rooms you get your own bathroom and a lot of storage for clothes. and that it is in a good central location. Overall, they need to care more about the customer experience rather than just making money. I would suggest they dedicate one of their dorms to an all...
