Went in and there was one other customer in the store. The two baristas were chatting it up with the customer for about 10 straight minutes about relationship problems with no indication of wanting to take my order or put the conversation on pause for 30 seconds to take my order. I was in a rush. Finally, a third barista or manager or someone came out and told the barista to take orders. She then proceeded to take the first customers order because I guess she still hadnt done that. Then finally, she takes my order. I try to put my phone number in so I can get the points as well, and she exits out of the screen before I can do so and says âitâs fine.â Not sure if that was on purpose or just an accident though. Then when I finally get my drink, I had to run out without trying it because I was late from waiting. When I finally tried it, she had forgotten to put the vanilla in the drink. Terrible experience honestly which sucks because I normally love it there! But to screw up that much and have a 20 minute wait when thereâs 3 baristas and 2 customers in the...
Read moreThe mini Aussie coffee shop just added the long list of cafes in West Hollywood. It's surely more a grab-and-go style with no seats provided either indoor and outdoor so people mostly just came, ordered, then left.
My curiosity was triggered as I LOVE AUSSIE COFFEE! Couldn't skip a day without having multiple cups of joe in Sydney and Melbourne.
If you've been to Aussie, you would have known that Milo (malted chocolate drink) is also a big thing there. Tectonic did serve it as Mocha and it's decent enough to satisfy the craving. It's not as sweet as I expected, prolly also because it's balanced by the coffee. The chocolate flavor was on the bolder side compared to the coffee itself so if you fancied your mocha going that way, this might be for you.
I also tried their Vanilla Latte and did ask for extra vanilla syrup after my first sip as it's quite bland initially. The coffee overall was good, but I wouldn't call it...
Read moreBest coffee Iâve had in LA (periodtâŠI said what I said) served by super friendly, incredibly knowledgable people (I was gently guided to a Honduras drip that was spot on - chefâs kiss). Not sure who supplies the baked goods, but those were delightful as well. I stumbled upon this place during their grand opening, and had the pleasure of meeting the little family that owns it (2 bigs and a little). No surprise, that family-owned/labor of love atmosphere of passion and care could be felt throughout (i.e. the kind of vibe Starbucks, Peetâs, and even Alfredâs just canât replicate). HIGHLY recommend. Worth a drive, if you donât live close. If youâre in the neighborhood, this is your new favorite spot. Go support this business. Do it. DO. IT....
