2 stars because the food came out hot and was fine.
The main problem here is the servers seem very ill trained and there is no floor manager. There were five other tables there besides me and my husband, and seemed to be about 4 servers. Our server didn’t tell us her name (which, ok, not a huge deal all things considered). Took a really long time to get our coffee and the drink my husband ordered, upwards of 10 minutes. When the server brought my coffee, she spilled it and said she would be right back to clean it up, but she brought some napkins and laid it over the spill and left the napkins there instead of wiping it up. Really strange to not just use a rag to wipe it up and to leave trash on a customers table. I just ended up sitting my mug down on the napkins. We ordered and it took about 40 minutes to get our pancakes and breakfast burrito. Again, only 5 other tables.
The server did not check on us this entire time, and I had to seek her out to ask for a new water carafe and for a coffee top off. She was rolling silverware.
The servers stood around a lot just staring at the plates the kitchen was putting out, waiting for theirs. Instead, the servers could have been running food for each other or checking on their tables during this time. There was just so much standing around. And when the servers weren’t standing around, they all seemed too concerned with rolling silverware and prepping the fresh fruit to check on their tables. Our server rolled silverware most the time instead of checking on us. I understand rolling silverware is part of the gig, but this should never take priority over your tables. Also the young woman cutting fresh fruit was not wearing gloves and then would go pour coffee, run food, touch other surfaces, etc., then return to cutting fruit without gloves. Come on, this is basic stuff.
There was just zero teamwork. Each of the servers walked past our empty water carafe for the 40 minutes it was empty and no one thought to replace it, and I saw the same thing at other tables with plates piled up, empty drinks, etc. it takes no extra effort to pick up something from a table, even if it isn’t yours, when you walk past.
Like I said, when our food came out it was hot and tasted fine honestly. But the syrup container that was brought for me was absolutely covered in syrup, to the point I had to put a napkin over the handle to pour it or else I’d have a hand full of syrup. It’s gross. It takes nothing to wipe off the handles and top of these syrup containers when you bus tables. Again, really basic stuff.
The lack of leadership for the servers is extremely apparent and honestly I’m not sure how this place can be successful when it seems like management has failed to train their staff and then left them alone to operate the...
Read moreAbsolutely will not come back. Today I went out for breakfast to celebrate a friends birthday and was VERY disappointed as I was overcharged and received everything wrong. I will admit when going out to eat I can be a little complicated when ordering, but I first ordered the rambler skillet I told her how I wanted the eggs cooked and asked if I could add steak to it and how much it would be. Our server told me she could check with the kitchen and let us know. She finished taking our orders and I then asked if I could add more veggies to it or if it would be an additional charge, I asked her if it would be easier to order the veggie skillet instead if I wanted those veggies and she said yes. Everything seemed fine. After ringing in our order she came back to our table at least 3 times. When my food came out there was no eggs so I asked our server if there was supposed to be eggs on it. She said “oh let me grab those for you” and shortly after brings out a plate of eggs for me. At the end of the meal she brings out the bill and when I read it I am utterly shocked as she tells me “just so you know my manager said I had to charge you for those eggs”. She neglected to tell me before bringing the food to the table she would be charging me $9 for eggs and an additional $6 for the steak, even tho she had many many opportunities to do so. So on top of the $17 for just the potatoes and a few veggies I paid an additional $15 making a simple skillet into a $32 plate. I would’ve simply kept the original skillet if she could have told me the one I switched to didn’t have eggs. I would’ve used the scrambled eggs on my sons plate that he wouldn’t eat if she would’ve told me she was going to charge me $9 just for a few eggs. On top of all that I ordered my son a kids French toast plate. It was one piece of French toast with scrambled eggs and instead of meat I requested wheat toast as my barely 1 year old cannot eat bacon or sausage. She brings me the full size French toast meal with caramel and strawberry sauce, still got the scrambled eggs but instead of his toast he got skillet potatoes. My personally do not feed my 1 year old fried food. I decided not to say anything and just feed him what I had but was still slightly irritated. Also one of my friends who was out with us had the wrong eggs made on her food and they charged her an additional charge for eggs to have her eggs corrected to scrambled instead of poached. The managers only resolution was to change one of the 2 charges for 2 scrambled eggs into a charge for 1 scrambled egg, thus taking off $1🤦♀️. I wish our server would’ve communicated any of the many additional charges made before the food was served and the bill was brought...
Read moreI really wanted to enjoy this place and gave it the benefit of the doubt for awhile during our visit. We were greeted and seated and brought water. So far so good. The building would benefit from coat hooks because half our table was taken up by that and the umbrella - not sure what we would have done if there was a person per seat.
We ordered drinks, one came out after about 5 minutes, and the other about 5-10 after that. The drinks were delivered and our order was not taken, and no quick mention of "I'll be right back." I don't blame our server because they were overworked and appeared to be the most experienced server while the other three individuals were visibly confused and likely new to the job (I was a server then manager for 10 years).
Once our order was taken our server was not able to be attentive because they had so many things to do.
Hygiene wise I am absolutely okay with people wearing yoga pants to work, but it is off putting when they continually have to adjust their pants then touch food and items that go to customer tables. Some more training in this regard could be useful.
Price does not match quality or quantity unfortunately. Substitutions were made or items left out without mention during ordering or after serving (no paprika/ green onions on the eggs Benedict, Bleu cheese/celery missing from bloody mary, prosciutto sandwich was cold). This wouldn't be such a big issue if it wasn't priced the way it was. One more experienced server and maybe more training would help. It took us an hour to get our food, had one round of drinks with no offer for more.
Environment-wise one individual kept yelling over customers to talk to to other servers when they were less than 10 feet away.
We may give it another try after they have had more time to...
