I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lee's Kitchen and Cocktails in Austin, Texas, and I must say that both the Ribeye Fried Rice and Beef Rib Pho were absolutely amazing. Lee's Kitchen and Cocktails truly delivered on flavor and quality, leaving me with a memorable dining experience.
Let's start with the Ribeye Fried Rice. From the first bite, I knew I was in for a treat. The ribeye was perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. It was combined with fragrant jasmine rice, assorted vegetables, and a harmonious blend of spices. Each ingredient complemented the others, creating a delightful symphony of taste and texture. The dish was generously portioned, making it a satisfying and fulfilling meal. The combination of tender ribeye, savory rice, and the crispy texture of the vegetables made it a standout dish that I would order again without hesitation.
Now, onto the Beef Rib Pho. As a pho enthusiast, I have had my fair share of this beloved Vietnamese dish, and Lee's Kitchen and Cocktails did not disappoint. The beef rib was succulent and fell off the bone, releasing its rich flavors into the broth. The pho broth itself was a masterpiece, packed with aromatic herbs and spices that elevated the dish to new heights. The rice noodles were cooked to perfection, and the bowl was topped with an array of fresh bean sprouts, Thai basil, lime, and jalapeños, allowing me to customize the flavors to my liking. The combination of tender beef, fragrant broth, and fresh garnishes made this Beef Rib Pho an absolute winner.
The service at Lee's Kitchen and Cocktails was also commendable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering suggestions and ensuring that our dining experience was exceptional. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal.
Overall, my experience at Lee's Kitchen and Cocktails was nothing short of excellent. The Ribeye Fried Rice and Beef Rib Pho were outstanding in terms of taste, quality, and presentation. I highly recommend both dishes to anyone looking for a culinary adventure in Austin. Whether you're a fan of rice or noodles, Lee's Kitchen and Cocktails is a must-visit restaurant that will leave you...
Read moreI really really really wanted to be able to give this place 5 stars… especially when paying Westlake prices,( we have been hoping for an above average Chinese restaurant here for so long) but I can’t. Let’s start with decor… I feel like they are confused about what they want to be… on one hand, you have an upscale brass bar and cocktail bar music, on the other, you have exposed shelves of canned coffee by the front door and dollar tree table decor… all of that housed in a beadboard, upper middle class coastal vibe. It’s very strange. It seems as though they are hoping to be a grub hub heavy kitchen but the takeout station, bar, and dining are all in one room which just doesn’t work. The menu is small, which would be fine if the food was outstanding. The cocktail menu is very unimaginative. The food: we ordered the fried oyster mushrooms which were good, the side of kewpie mayo was a bit off putting though… just seems like they didn’t even try. I could think of a million dipping sauces that would have been better. My husband ordered the pho, which was good. No complaints, just not really blown away either. I ordered the Hainan Chicken which was honestly not at all what I was expecting. Literally a slab of pale (I thought it was boiled, apparently it’s “steamed”) skin on white and dark meat chicken with little flavor. I had to pick out the bones and gristle, as well as remove the noodles of gross soggy skin. By that point I had lost my appetite. The ginger is on the side, you have to add that yourself. I could understand if maybe this was an authentic Chinese dish that I just didn’t “appreciate” but this isn’t an authentic Chinese restaurant… chopsticks were just an option. Overall, I think there’s potential but they really need to decide what their focus is… and take hainan off the menu. It was the most unappealing meal I’ve had in a long time. Service was fine. ...
Read moreIt was our first time trying Lee's Kitchen + Cocktails a few weeks ago with my parents. I was excited to see that there were quite a few vegetarian offerings along with things that my parents would like. When the food came, we were really impressed with how big the portions were and how incredibly fresh and delicious the food was. Here's what we tried:
spring rolls - delicious with light and fresh ingredients that go really well with the peanut sauce
Lee's salt & Pepper tofu - this tofu was quite unique. It felt light and well seasoned. The interior was soft and the outside was crispy and not too chewy.
fried oyster mushrooms - this was the star. Super crispy with a hearty delicious interior
-Hainan Chicken - My Dad ordered this and liked it
Vermicelli bowl with tofu & egg roll - fresh and yummy
-Morning glory - this was well seasoned and had a nice flavor. Sometimes a little tough
-rice bowl with crispy tofu & vegetarian egg roll - similar to the vermicelli bowl but rice instead of noodles
The dishes come with a side of fish sauce and they had a vegetarian version which we really appreciated. It was a fantastic flavor and complimented the vermicelli and rice really well.
Overall the food was very good. The only thing that we noticed was that the tofu was cooked the same across all dishes. Although it was very delicious, it would be cool if the tofu appetiser was different from the entree.
The margarita was very tasty!
Next time I want to try...
