Pizza burnin Haven't been to MOD for some time. My biggest gripe being they consistently burn pizzas to the point I can't eat them. That didn't stop my son from eating there and he recently told me MOD had improved and stopped their pizza burning ways. Decided to take a chance and order one. The good. As you may already know, this is a one price build your own pizza affair. You pay based on size and can select all the toppings you like. You can get through the line pretty quickly and the pizza is done/baked before you know it. The end result is usually pretty good. A fresh baked pizza. The bad. The speed of baking does come with side effects, more often than not you end up with a pizza burned around the edges. I can say they have come up with what looks like a baking innovation. Instead of using a solid metal pan they now use a perforated pan. I'm guessing this allows the pizza to bake more quickly on the bottom to avoid too much burning. It seems they have had some success, but the pizza still burns, just maybe a bit less. There are parts of the crust that are essentially turned to cracker and in the worst case charred. In the areas of the pizza that are baked well the pizza is good. In general the ingredients are good, mozzarella is good, just a shame the whole isn't evenly baked. As far as the atmosphere, this location is pretty good. There's a nice out door area and a spacious interior. My only gripe are the hard and uncomfortable tin chairs I'm seeing in a lot of casual dining restaurants.

Oh, MOD Pizza. How I love the salads there. They pizzas are fine and tasty, but their salads are the best. Why? I do not know. Maybe it’s just because salads are so often bland or uninspiring, but at MOD you can make your own with their wonderful assortment of pizza toppings. It’s like going to a Subway and getting a salad which is just a mix of their sandwich toppings, except this doesn’t suck. I get some mixed greens and arugula to form my leafy base and then add some ground beef, sausage, a few pieces of spicy sausage (for that random surprise kick), two or three salami torn up, Parmesan cheese, shredded low moisture mozzarella, roasted broccoli, roasted corn, roasted garlic (copious amounts), and roasted Brussels sprouts. Then, I have them toss it with Ranch dressing. The salad is so tasty that if I wander past a MOD pizza, I have to at least get a mini-salad even if I’m going to go to dinner in an hour or two. Also, the combination of their berry lemonade and sweet tea (or if you really have a sweet tooth - with Orange Fanta) is great.

After a long drive back into Austin, we decided to get some mod pizza since it’s our favorite. Our mistake was going to this one in particular because the girl that helped us was extremely rude and kept a rude expression with us the whole time as if she were disgusted. Throughout this event we were still nice, I work in customer service so I understand how employees and customers can be sometimes. In the end when I was paying, even with her rude attitude, I kept calm. That was until I was waiting for my receipt, she threw it across the counter at me. I still did nothing and decided to write a bad review later. But once we sat down she kept staying close by us constantly sweeping and following us around to the drinks twice. Was it a racial thing? I honestly don’t know cause she mad dogged us once we walked through that door till the time we left. But anyways the other workers which was a guy and a girl were kind. The girl with the blonde short hair was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional.

I've been wanting to write this review for a month, but other things took priority. Anyways, this was place was decent up until Thursday December 27th, 2024, I ate my pizza. Then earlier at midnight I get ill (diarrhea/sweating was in the bathroom for more than 10 minutes at least). Sadly, I don't know what happened to my receipt, but I thought I could at least show them on my phone through my bank account that I purchased their pizza.

That Friday night (December 28th) I went to them and mentioned I got ill from there pizza, and I could at least prove that bought it from them through my bank account on my Wells Fargo app. I first spoke to a lady who was kind of to say she was sorry and then went to her manager. However, this manager with glasses (not sure of the gender identity but had long blonde hair in a tied-up bun or ponytail) gave a lame excuse and couldn't refund me my money because of lack of proof that the food came from them. Interestingly enough, that manager is the same person who printed out my receipt upon paying for their pizza with my debit card on December 27th, 2024. Because of the manager's refusal to give me money my back, I left. Decided I wasn't going to waste my time arguing and I already decided I wouldn't frequent there establishment anymore because of that. This was a decent place, but because that woke manager refused to refund me my money, I'll never be back. So, shame on that person.

P.S. Btw, I ended up getting my refund in return. I...

DO NOT EAT HERE! This was an absolutely horrific experience. Everyone is always in a bad mood, have earbuds in, food area is always messy and dirty, but tonight was the last straw. The health hazard I saw tonight was enough to make me walk out. When I walked in and approached the counter, the employee says “what do you want”… I get it, people have bad days so I was trying to be patient. However, I noticed he has very old/used gloves on, with those same gloves, he takes out his earbud, he then places it on the counter NEXT to the food, the tomato sauce was running low, so he turns around to grab another pan of sauce, but when he bent down, his whole BUTT CRACK is out in the open, as he is grabbing the sauce from the bottom of the fridge, he ends up dropping some tomato sauce on the floor (i get it, accidents happen) but then he grabs a rag from the sanitizer bucket, which keep in mind that is on the table next to the food items, he then squeezes out the water from the rag ONTO the floor to start cleaning the sauce he dropped on the floor in assuming? At this point, I’ve had enough. I was trying to give him a chance, give MOD another chance, but even a group of girls walked out too. How disappointing to see the lack of care,...
