I'm kick-starting this review with the important details first: If you want a sandwich in this area, try Panera Bread, Subway, Firehouse Subs, Einstein Bagels, or Jersey Mike's, all less than two miles from this location and on the same street. If you want gas, then Mobil, Racetrac, and Murphy's are very close and cover both sides of the street;
Do not shop here.
Please understand me: I'm a mild-mannered person made justifiably angry. Normally I dislike conflict and prefer to resolve disputes quietly. I understand people have bad days. I'm happy to pretend small accidents don't happen, and I give people the time and grace to correct honest mistakes. At tipping venues I do so generously even for average service. When I rarely review a venue I try my best to be reasonable and considerate. I say these things to help readers understand how catastrophically a venue must fail in its duty to its customers to deserve a lowest-possible rating from me. I've been using the net since the first web browser and I have never before given anywhere a rating this low.
That said, here's a carefully calculated rating for this particular WaWa, totaled from four independent criteria by someone whose profession requires excellence in design, optimization, and customer experience:
For the logistics, layout, and signage of the venue, I give zero credit for the first star. The venue enforces no effective customer distancing or queuing measures; the distribution, position, and readability of signs is inadequate; and staff members are positioned such that they cannot (or will not) hear what customers are saying.
For the intuitiveness of the menu operating system, I give zero credit for the second star. No one should make eight taps to navigate a menu of less than eight items. No one should be presented with a sub-menu having only one item. No one should have to search for the one button critical to checkout that should be prominent at every stage of the checkout process – and no one, ever, should be unable to select an item from the menu if it is in stock.
For the customer service experience, I give zero credit for the third star. Of four visible employees on shift that day, only one engaged me – a sandwich artisan who told me soda was not on the menu and could only be ordered from the register. Afterward I was unable to order a sandwich because I was ignored by all four employees, despite asking for help audibly enough even for customers to hear. Should anyone reading this review spend ten seconds explaining where on the menu screen the order button is hidden, they will have given me more time and respect than the entire staff at this venue combined.
For the food, I give zero credit for the fourth star. Food I cannot order is food I cannot eat. I left the venue hungrier than I arrived with only frustration, humiliation, and wasted time for my receipt. The first rule of food service is you don't let the customer leave unassisted and hungry.
To this establishment, I give the lowest possible rating of one star only because I can't give it zero. They angered an exceptionally patient and reasonable man through neglect and incompetence, and I am using that anger to speak out publicly: this place is an unmitigated clusterflutz of terribleness.
Superior alternatives are numerous and nearby.

Read moreI am a big fan of Wawa’s mobile order. I have their app. I always place mobile pick up orders for in store and I’ve never had a problem until today. I tend to go to the store on Malabar near me and the store in Melbourne. The store on Palm Bay Road is the one I visited today and they gave me my smoothie in a large coffee cup sticky outside no whipped cream like I asked for and I can’t even be sure if it’s made right my smoothie is half melted because the lady at the smoothie counter did not put my smoothie with my pick up order and just left it sitting on her station I had to ask the employee who made my sandwich if she could get my order for me because it’s past my time pick up and she went looking for my smoothie and couldn’t find it and it’s because it was in a coffee cup like what the. who drinks a smoothie out of a coffee and then the coffee cup is sticky at that and then my sandwich was sitting there forever because my smoothie wasn’t done and my smoothies half melted like I’m so annoyed. I’m just so annoyed and the store was just nasty looking like they didn’t have anything together I’m watching this guy make like 1 million other sandwiches wondering where my sandwiches is it still on screen is this is not like no I’m very aggravated that just ruined my time because I spent 15 minutes waiting after my allotted time for my food order and that’s 15 minutes, my smoothie was sitting...
