My review below is based on my first visit to GC. Initially, I had no plans to return. However, a friend suggested we go there for a holiday meal, which prompted me to reconsider. Upon my arrival, Hunter, the manager, recognized me from my previous negative review. He approached me in a cordial and apologetic manner, inviting me to share any concerns I might have.
During this visit, I noted that the restaurant was clean and operating as it should be. Since that initial experience, I have returned approximately six times and have been consistently pleased with the service and offerings. Just last Saturday, they featured Prime Rib, which was enjoyable—though I would have appreciated horseradish as an accompaniment.
It is evident that Hunter genuinely cares about the quality of the dining experience and has made significant improvements within the restaurant. The establishment has been recently remodeled, demonstrating a reinvestment in the business. Kudos to Hunter and the GC team for their hard work; I am looking forward to my next visit.
I went today around 4:15pm. There were several empty trays and the buffet had food droppings everywhere. My wife asked for sweet potatoes, when we left at 4:55ish there were still no sweet potatoes. The floors around the buffet were very slick and the ice cream machine was broken. When I mentioned my concerns to Hunter (turned out to be owner) he was very snide and said "thanks for your opinion". My waitress informed me Hunter was the owner and is only 21 years old. Read moreI like Golden Corral however this visit to this location was not good. At steak bar the cook advised me 5 minutes for a steak to my liking. I went and put some veg and fries on my plate. Maybe took just over a minute. I returned to steak location now with 5 people also there. Clearly visible to cook. I had ordered before all these people. He proceeded to give away all the steak he had just started to cook when I ordered. He then put new steak on. I said that I guess I have to wait another 5 minutes now then? He said oh sorry I just gave it all away. 5 minutes later got my steak and went to table. Veg was now cold. In cutlery bag was a fork only. I then searched the restaurant for a knife to cut steak. There were none available anywhere. I finally found a server who had to go and get one. Food now even colder. The fries I originally got were the few that remained in the tray. 20 minutes and 30 minutes later the fries tray was still the same as I left it. Just whose job is it to ensure empty trays are replenished? The desert bar really looked unappealing in appearance. Our server was the highlight she was very nice but the whole experience here tonight was that nothing mattered, regarding customer satisfaction. Read moreI thought I would try them after a year being away. Got worse. The employees feel the gloves are for their protection. I watched and saw the following. 1.) Not one person changed their gloves the entire time I was there. 2.) The person that sweep's the floor was helping to cut the items for the salad bar. He did not change gloves. After visiting the salad bar person he went back to cleaning the bathroom and sweeping the floors and emptying the trash. 3.) The people working on the line and the salad bar (with the assistant manager) we're passing around their cell phones sharing information and having great time. 4.) I watched as the new food was placed on top of old food on the line. 5.) I watched as the line people changed the food tags times. They updated the expiration times. So the old items that needed to be removed were not. 6.) I mentioned these items to the assistant manager. He said he would look into it. He did. He went to the individuals in the salad bar and they all had a good laugh. The prices has gone up. The quality of service has gone down. I don't think I will ever go back. I believe the Health Department needs to close down this establishment. Apparently the owner does not care. I am sure most locals don't go there anymore.
