LA Fitness — Local services in West Melbourne

I have not been in a while I will be back though August 12th people. I love the gym I love the equipment I love the classrooms I am obsessed with a Zumba it is a great way to go in workout for 55 minutes non stop moving go out and leave. Or you can go in their olympic size pool they have a sauna I really really do love LA Fitness. Here though is where I was really really upset I was never told that they were going to charge my account all of these fees and boy oh boy did they charge my account. My grandmother signed up the same day I go back and I sign up because she had signed up we were told that they waived the fees and stuff that I only had to put down first and last and that was it I pay my monthly dues woohoo right nope I think it was like 60 days later I'm being charged my normal rate plus an extra fifty or sixty bucks on top of two months so daycare and it was just I called and I get a hold of them and of course they they are very helpful the one that I go to and then they give me a number for corporate or something and I call and it seems like a younger kid he gives me an attitude he treats me like I'm a fool what I told him I'm sorry I wasn't never even told he's straight up the guy that signed me up the guy that signed my grandmother up straight up told me there was no fees.. this gentleman young little gentleman I'm trying not to be rude here basically size to me well there's nothing I can do you signed on the dotted line word for word that is what he said to me. I just hung up the phone mind you I'm in tears because they done took all of this money out of my account at once. I call back my gym the one that I go to and the girl on the phone says do you want to talk to so-and-so which I will not say his name and I said no I do not want to talk to him because she even said he owes me an apology for not letting me know this and I said no because if I was to get on the phone with him right now I would say some very unkind words so let me calm down and I will see him face to face I also would like to see the paperwork where I signed on this so-called dotted line. End of story I love the gym great people do not get me wrong they really are great people at that gym that I go to corporate whoever was that that that was someone that did not need to be in the position that he is in I will be back I'm just waiting for my daughter to go back to school cuz she does not like the daycare and of course I have Mom guilt so I put her before me like any other Mommy so when she starts VPK this mama will be going right after I drop her little behind off just watch out read all the paperwork don't take anybody's word because you can't do that anymore you legit have to sit down and read all of the fine lines before signing on that so called...

My wife and I joined this gym to swim. The pool has three lanes to swim in. There are a lot of swimmers at this gym.

Issues:

There are no sign up sheet or regulations as to who can use the pool and how they can use it. There are people that walk in the pool and “try” to swim. Why don’t they use a treadmill? I swim a mile five or more days a week. This is a swimming pool to exercise in. Not to play. Not to walk. Not for therapy. If you need therapy, a gym pool should not be used. Go to your doctor and ask for rehab. This is called gym etiquette.

Esporta has pool aerobics classes that are not listed anywhere in the gym. So how is a member to know there is a class if they want to swim? Also, if there is enough room in the pool, why not keep one lane open?

I’ve continually dealt with other swimmers that will take up a lane from anywhere from an hour to two hours. I pay for a membership why should they be able to hog Lane for that period of time? Again management or corporate does nothing.

Other issues:

A woman works out in the gym and brings her dog with her. She says it’s a service dog. But it’s a shitzu or some other type of lapdog. Stop being a snowflake and keep your dog at home. Quit ruining things for other people that actually have service dogs. Pets do not belong in a gym.

There is another woman that is transgender and uses the mens locker room. There is a unisex bathroom you can use. I’ve told management and corporate. They do not care. If I go into the woman’s bathroom and claim I’m a woman, is that ok?

I feel extremely violated and uncomfortable that I pay for a gym membership and have to deal with all these issues. I am so tired of this “woke” America. No one follows rules. Corporations do not care. So tired of what is happening to our country and how horrible customers are...

On the positive side, I liked the variety of equipment at this location on Hollywood Blvd in West Melbourne. Even when it was super crowded, I could always move through my workout in a timely manner if I was flexible. The vast majority of the patrons were nice as well. However, I had some incredibly negative experiences here. With very few exceptions, the staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. Frankly, I can't see how this company stays in business. The attitudes of its employees are that poor. They seem to look down on you unless you are one of the "beautiful people." Before joining, a friend warned me that this gym was "cliquey." He didn't add details, but I soon understood what he meant. The staff members are more interested in socializing with themselves and their friends, in addition to hitting on girls, than in serving the club's patrons. If I were running this company, I'd fire the entire crew and start all over from scratch with a healthy dose of training in professional behavior. There is also a core of steroid-using patrons who make the gym miserable for others. I'd boot these butt-heads from the gym in an instant if I were in charge. I was bullied and pushed off equipment on several occasions, once in front of a trainer who just watched and laughed. Some of these guys load up equipment with a ton of weights, then simply walk away when they are finished. Nobody on the staff disciplines them. There is steroid use here, and sadly some users are in law enforcement. There were at one point needles in the locker room. The gym cleaned that up, and then the juicers started tossing the needles in the grass near the parking lot. They have addressed this, happily. I was really disappointed in what I encountered.
