My daughter and I went inside and ordered two cake cones with the flavor of the day and were given a number. The employee who took my order didn't repeat it back to me, nor did i get a receipt with my order on it, but i assumed an order this simple would be correct. Three employees stood behind the counter doing nothing while we moved aside to wait. A solid five minutes later, an employee brought us two dishes with a scoop of the FOTD. My daughter informed the employee that we ordered cones, so he took the dishes with custard back behind the counter. A bit later, he returned to us to tell us that our receipt said we ordered dishes. I told him I had no receipt and the girl who took my order didn't repeat my order, but apparently, she got it wrong. He left again and came back to tell me I could have cones but had to pay the difference, so we went back to the counter. My daughter then pointed out that the price was the same. I asked the guy what the price was for a cone or a dish and he basically told me he didn't care that they were the same price but that I would have to pay 70 cents for the cones because that's what his manager told him to do. Finally, after me explaining to him again that we ordered cones and him staring at me and doing absolutely nothing, another employee, a young lady, came and said she'd take care of it. She asked him where the dishes were, and he said he gave them to someone else. She ultimately gave us the two cones we ordered. I've been to this Culver's many times before this, but will never be back. Whoever owns this location needs to get on the ball. It's always busy because of the location, but many of the employees need more and better training on the Culver's way of doing things as it's a hot mess in there and the customer service leaves a lot...
Read moreWhat has happened to America’s favorite eatery?? I have to say even though I’m a Culvers’ lover, I was truly disappointed today. First of all let me point out that this incident happened today Fabruary 4th, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. just in case a manager wanted to review the cameras. I went in and ordered a 2 piece cod with fries and coleslaw. I paid, was given a number and waited. I saw my order get fixed and put out for the employees working the front to hand to me. At least 6 workers were crowded together playing and laughing while my order just sat there. I just got off work doing a 12 hour shift. That’s why I treated my self to a good place (Culvers) or so I thought. I have to say I wasn’t for certain that it was my order, but it looked like it. I kept staring at it tired and hungry while the 6 employees laughed and played. Sure enough, after at least 30 minutes, the cook from the back called out to the people working the front and said “are you guys gonna give the man his order or what” they just stared. Finally one of the employees put on gloves and reached for my food that I happen to be staring at and brought it to me. I asked her since my food was sitting out for so long, is it still hot? She couldn’t even answer my question. So I just asked for my money back and left. What a waste I thought how Culvers is giving all these kids decent jobs at yet they just stand around and do nothing. Everyone wants a job but no one wants to work. I will still continue to patronize America’s favorite eatery. Just...
Read moreMy husband and I came in this evening to purchase two one-scoop cups of custard. We waited about 20 minutes before alerting a staff member that we were waiting on our order. We acknowledge that it was busy; however, people who arrived and placed orders after we did received their orders before we approached the staff about ours. When we did receive our orders, they were not up to standard. The toppings were sparse, and my husband's one-scoop was more like a half-scoop. The custard itself was melty already, and this is likely due to the main reason why I'm writing this review.
While we were waiting, we witnessed Hannah take a cup of custard that was assembled and already presentable for a customer, take the lid off, and dump it back into the flavor of the day container. This really grossed me out. I don't know where that cup of custard came from, nor do I know how long it was sitting out before Hannah put it back into the large container. We figured that the melty custard we were served was probably the custard that she reused. I've worked in the service industry for many years, and I'm pretty sure this would be a health code violation at any reputable business. At a place like Culver's where food assembly happens directly in front of customers' eyes, this seems like a bold move, and I'd be curious to know how often...
