Wah Yoan II — Restaurant in West New York

I ordered a take out and the order was all wrong. There must have been a glitch in their system at the time I ordered. The bag and containers were covered in cooking oil from the scallion pancakes that were literally dripping and oozing in stale cooking oil. It took me ages to degrease everything. The pancakes ended up in the trash, they are unfit for consumption. I never ordered the crab wantans and took one bite, and yuck. They were just a doughy, stodgy piece of pastry that had no flavour, it was bland, they acompanied the scallion pancakes in the trash. The lobster rice was bland, nothing special as there was no taste at all. I am so frustrated with this restaurant, I ended up having to make my own stir-fry. The food is slightly above average for a Chinese spot. The lo mein is a little too greasy and the pancakes for the moo shu were just uncooked wonton wrappers that stuck together. Everything else was decent.

The delivery took an hour and a half though, which is unacceptable. Eat 24 quoted me an hour wait time, which I thought was generous considering how close the restaurant is to my apartment (maybe a 10 minute drive, with traffic). An extra 30 minutes+ on top of that...

Not a big fan. First off the lady at the front is handling money then putting food with her bare hands to fry(nuggets). The “pork” fried rice lacked pork. Mostly just plain fried rice. French fries were ok. Best thing i had was the egg roll. No complaints there. General TSO chicken is supposed to be spicy. Wasn’t the best experience. Will not be coming back for anything but...
