Spoonful Thai Bistro — Restaurant in West Reading

Small restaurant with few tables inside. Max 30 people can sit. Food tasted good. Each menu item is unique to try. This is our first time visit and we had dinner menu with Chicken Noodle Soup, Pad Thai Noodles, Pad Prik King Entree, Crab Bangoon Appetizer.

Appetizers are so good. Must try dishes. Chicken Nuggets also tasted good. Kids love them which comes with fries also.

Chicken Noodles soup is also good. This is a big bowl of soup which can be shared among 4 people.

Pad Prik King Entree tasted so different and we didn't like the taste. It has lot of vegetables with choice meat. This comes with a small bowl of rice.

Pad Thai Noodles tasted good. Thin rice noodles were good in taste. This also comes with lots of vegetables and choice of meat.

Food is definitely good with fresh ingredients but I feel as if this place definitely caters to the standard American taste buds as this was probably one of the saltiest Thai dishes I've ever had & no spicy heat whatsoever after requesting (very very spicy) & as Thai food being my 2nd favorite ethnic cuisine I've tried many many many different Thai places all throughout the east coast. Prices seem standard to what many other Thai restaurants have but they definitely have very small portions to other Thai restaurants but I guess it's expected being that its a bistro-cafe like setting. I ordered shrimp drunken noodles & shrimp pad thai. Great place to swing by if you want something quick & local but for now I believe Eve's Kitchen & Thaiwat in Berks county outdoes this place greatly when it comes to true true authentic style...

We stopped at this restaurant while in the area, mostly because we are Thai food junkies and this place had really good reviews. The restaurant is very small but we were there on a Sunday afternoon and they had a few tables available. Now to the food… this was probably one of the best tasting Thai dishes I’ve had, starting with fried tofu, which was the BEST fried tofu I’ve ever had. It was crunchy and crispy and actually tasted like tofu! My husband has masaman curry and it was delicious. I had phat Thai and it was very good in comparison to the ones I love had before with the exception of a piece of plastic I found in it (although I blame it on the plastic container I brought the leftovers in).
