This was a last minute pick for our dinner while driving around Martinsburg all day looking for geocaches.
We took a chance and rolled in around 4:40 p.m. We were originally told it was going to be a 45 minute wait, so we said we would pass, but they stopped us and said there might be a table freeing up soon. They were right....we waited for less than 10 minutes!
We were seated at a nice big table. We had 6 people and we had plenty of room at our table. We met our waitress shortly after and she was very good! I really wish I would have gotten her name… but I forgot to ask and after the fact, no one remembers getting her name. She was full of energy and was very attentive to our needs.
Even though it was Saturday, they still had a special going on that we could get a dinner with 2 sides for only $8.99! 4 of 6 of us took advantage of that deal. One of us ordered the potato skins appetizer for their dinner, and one of us ordered the kids meal hamburger.
While we waited for our meals they brought out bread/rolls that were so fresh and soooo delicious!! We also asked for peanuts, which they offer if you ask for them. They just asked that we don't throw the shells on the floor.
Our food came and it was great! The 4 people who ordered the meals all got the steak. It was cooked to perfection. 2 of us got medium steaks and the other 2 were medium well. Even though they were just 6 oz sirloins, they were plenty big enough for our dinner along with a baked potato and steamed broccoli which is what most people got. We did try the cinnamon apples and they were very good as well.
The total bill came to about $82 before the tip. This was for 5 adults and one 13 year old girl. None of us were drinking alcohol so all we had to drink was sodas.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is in the Martinsburg area and wants a nice experience for dinner. It is family friendly and I would not have any problems going back...
Read moreFirst time eating there will be our last. I felt bad for the waitress we had she was so sweet. First let me say this, my husband was a kitchen manager at a steakhouse for many years and I have worked in the restaurant industry before as well so I rarely complain because we both have been in the same shoes before. Our food was cold when it came out and my husband and I both ordered our steaks medium well and the blood was running out of his over his plate, we let our waitress know since she didn’t run the food she kindly took it back and had it cooked a little longer and brought it back it was a little better and she apologized over and over but my husband said it’s ok I will eat it, it’s a little bit better. The thing that got me the most was the manager watched us send it back and he was near our table close to the bar just kind of hanging out but since we both have worked in a restaurant before my husband said to me this was a perfect opportunity for the manager to come to our table since we had a recook and he didn’t. We knew this was the manager that was standing there because he had to apologize to the table beside us because they hAd numerous complaints and at first I thought they were being out of line watching them complain, but I can see why. The food was flavorless, very bland. Disappointed in that. My husband said either you have kitchen staff that don’t care or don’t know what they are doing. I understand that right now the way our economy is and places are short staffed and I sympathize with that I really do but if this is how things are run here all the time I would look for you to lose a lot of business. Again we had the sweetest waitress lever kudos to her because I know with all the complaints that weren’t her fault she...
Read moreAte here a few days before Christmas with my father. Worst steak experience ever.
Starting off, the waitress kept making sure to inform us that she was very sick and not feeling good. Not really something that you want to tell your customers.
That aside, the food itself was quite terrible. My father and I both ordered steaks to be cooked medium. Both came out rare to medium rare-- blood everywhere. Sent them back to be cooked some more.
The same piece of steak had been used and re-grilled after it had already been plated. Received the steak back in two pieces from when I cut it, and it was STILL medium rare. The steak is now cut into three pieces. Send it back again, and the now very sad looking, 3-piece, multiple times grilled and re-plated steak is brought back. Still... Medium rare and bloody. Not even sure how this is possible since it's been 'cooked' 3 times now.
Got the combo with the bacon on a skewer. The bacon was absolutely disgusting too. About an inch thick and all fat, I bit into it and it was pure white with fat. It felt like biting into gelatin and was absolutely awful, I could not eat any of it.
My father's steak was treated no better.
I can't believe a steakhouse would take and re-plate the same cut of meat 3 times (They offered to try to cook the same cut up piece of meat a fourth time, but we declined as it was getting ridiculous at this time and I really didn't want the sick waitress to keep handling it). It was taken off the check and we left, but overall absolutely abysmal experience, both my father and I left...
