Caliente Mexican Grill West Warwick — Restaurant in West Warwick

I wanted to share our experience with Caliente's for catering. We always go to Caliente's for lunch or dinner and we are addicted to their food. Everything is so delicious and the service is always excellent. My daughter and her (now) husband wanted a small wedding at our home for their closest family. Her husbands family is originally from Mexico and my son in law wanted us to go to Caliente's for the catering. I think this alone is a compliment that the food is that authentic! I was helped by Alex when I went in to order the food. He helped me choose exactly what I needed. I delegated to my sister in law to pick up the food the day of for me. Everything was in huge trays, sealed tight and labeled. The portions were huge! We ordered the 25-30 people "taco bar". We had 25 people and we had tons of leftovers. All of my son in laws family loved the food (they are from Massachusetts and had never had Caliente's before.) Next time I need catering I will definitely go there again, we definitely got our moneys worth...

I usually have no problems when I am ordering from this place and the food is excellent but today on Sunday I tried calling them four times in a row within 20 minutes and it took them 20 minutes to answer the phone and when they did I tried paying for the order over the phone so my father can pick it up but the guy spoke broken up English and kept asking me what I said and then after all of that he said “oh I’m too busy right now I can’t take the number down just do it when you get here..” and I said “dude. Are you literally not listening to me? I said my father is picking it up so that’s why I need to pay for it over the phone.” and the guy said “well I can’t right now just do it when you get here.” so I flip flipped out and then hung up the phone horrible service. I hope that guy gets fired if I find out who he is I’m going to tell his manager next time I eat there. I hope they read this...

Although I walked in and created my own burrito, I somehow ended up with the wrong burrito in my bag. I didn't find out until I got home and took a bite into something that literally tasted like taco bell. The burrito had BBQ sauce and pineapple in it, which I quickly figured out it was their south western burrito. Also, somehow the tortilla had the same undercooked texture of a taco bell tortilla. I am sad to give such a low review because the burrito I had watched them make for me looked delicious. I'm assuming the cashier just grabbed the wrong bag? Honest mistake, but very disappointing experience overall. Sorry to whoever got my burrito, but maybe it's a blessing in disguise because the south western burrito...
