Took the family for a late lunch. My husband and I ordered the churrasco and oxtails, while the kids had mac and cheese with chicken nuggets. We also got ceviche and tostones with guacamole to share.
If you’re looking for authentic Latin Caribbean food, this isn’t the place—set your expectations low. The oxtail was definitely not Latin-style; it tasted more like BBQ. The churrasco was just okay—the steak had some flavor, and the chimichurri sauce was fine, but nothing special. The beans took up most of my plate, seemed straight from a can, and were dry with no broth at all. Again, not authentic.
The ceviche was the highlight—we both enjoyed it. I tried my daughter’s mac and cheese, which was decent and buttery, and her French fries were fantastic—we all loved those. As for the guacamole, it desperately needed salt and lime; we didn’t bother finishing it.
Overall, I think they’re trying, but they should rethink some menu items and focus on making them truly great. Also, don’t advertise as a “Latin Caribbean” restaurant—it’s more “inspired by” those cuisines than...
Read moreThis was a 10 out of 10. I would highly recommend eating here. The vibes are great with Caribbean music playing just loud enough to enjoy without overpowering the overall mood. We started with a few appetizers. The beef soup was loaded with beef and the flavor was immaculate. The chowder was perfectly creamy and made with bacon so that was a plus. We had the shrimp and octopus ceviche, and loved the flavor. They make their Jamaican patties! The pastry was nice and flaky the meat was flavorful and juicy. Honestly, the best patty I've ever had. Get the patties! Now to the meals. Oxtail was tender, juicy, and fell off the damn bone! Packed with flavor and braised to perfection. We also had the seafood casserole also packed with flavor and full of seafood. The prices are beyond reasonable and the drinks were great too. They also do mocktails if drinking isn't your thing. I can see this becoming the go-to spot. The menu isn't overwhelming but it has enough to keep you busy going through it all. I don't have anything bad to say at all. I can't...
Read moreI don't know if I came at a bad time, the reviews seemed good but the experience did not match, I love to support local places especially interesting concepts.
$15 for Yukon fries and my order contained 5 fries...that is just offensive for the price, the entire order feels like it was rushed even though the place wasn't busy. The fries tasted as if they sat under a heat lamp. Just dry and tasteless.
The Cubano had flavor where food was present but the entire sandwich was so thin with hardly any meat I understand grill marks on bread but this was clearly BURNT, just making the overall sandwich poor in quality and taste
The entire order came to around $28 and for what I received I couldn't recommend.everything was just so lazily prepared...
To much money for food that is...
