We have been to Cowesett Inn many times and never really had a problem. This year when we were trying to figure out where to go for mother's day my MIL decided on Cowesett Inn. We called and made reservations for 7 people and we were seated as soon as we arrived. Qhen making the reservation they never mentioned that Mothers day was a very limited menu. The waitress came over and asked if we would like drinks. We all told her water would be fine for now. The waitress was very short with us while taking our orders. She actually rolled her eyes at us not once but twice while taking our orders. Our orders were delivered by 2 other waitresses and never once during our dinner did our waitress check on us. Even as she walked by our table multiple times. We asked for more drinks from a different waitress because it was obvious we were not going to get any more service from our waitress. My MIL ordered the baked stuff shrimp and it was overly cooked and chewy. Both of my sister in laws ordered the stuffed chicken breast. It looked very good, but both had very little meat and both were very dry. One order had gravy served with it and the other one did not 🤷♀️. I ordered the prime rib and it actually was one of the best tasting ones I have ever had ( but had ALOT of fat). After dinner we waited at least 20 minutes before the dirty dishes were cleared . We asked for a dessert menu and she did bring us a menu, but it was for food, not dessert. So we sat for another 15 minutes before she came back to take our order and quickly got us the dessert menu. Dessert and coffee came out and the coffee was cold. I think next time we decide to go out for dinner, it probably won't be at...
Read moreCowesett Inn is a nice place to go for an anniversary meal with your spouse. Maybe a business meeting with your colleagues. A quiet night out with your new date. It’s a nice place to go for a peaceful, clean, quiet and tasteful meal. This is NOT McDonalds folks. And it’s NOT a loud, wild place where people are hanging around in jeans with chains. Cowesett Inn is a bit pricy folks. It is Not your local, walk to the corner pub. It is a very clean, more ‘shirt and pants’ style of restaurant , rather than ‘shorts and flip flops’ kind of restaurant. So I went here with my friend Michael. We sat at the bar and ordered a couple drinks. The bar tenders were very knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. We had a few drinks, Michael told some jokes that had several of us sitting at the bar laughing and trying to remember jokes of our own! A lot of fun. The atmosphere was very conducive to relaxing, meeting new people and even telling jokes. Soon I ordered buffalo wings for a snack. Very tasty. No complaints at all. They were placed in front of me within about five minutes or so. Delicious light snack. Michael and I continued relaxing and talking, interacting with the bar maids and other customers. After a few more drinks, we ordered our food. Again delivered quickly. I was in the mood for a BLT but the closest thing on the menu was a Turkey Club sandwich. Well… the young lady there said that she could have a BLT made even though it wasn’t on the menu! Now that’s customer service! Im sure they couldn’t do that for every kind of meal, but a BLT is basically built into a turkey club sandwich anyway. But their accommodating staff made me feel very welcome. I’ll be back here again. 5 Stars all the...
Read moreI was VERY disappointed yesterday . Not the place it was years ago ... had an event here for a graduation... about 25 people. Booked it 4 months ago ... bad service , did not have the cake table set up, I was told I had the room all day until WE wanted to leave. Then the servers were telling our guests to tab out as we had to leave the room as they had another group coming at 4 pm , we did not get there until 1? Finally straightened that out , it was a mistake ... then they basically kicked us out anyway by clearing the tables , packing the food up and cutting and serving the cake without asking first ? The bill was given , they had our count wrong , had to wait for the manager to fix it and she was not nice ... was told we could add a tip ourselves not a set tip amount ... then told day off the tip would be added and it would be what they wanted it too be??? I always tip and tip well but not when we are not given good service ? Why should I give 20% when we did not get even close to good service ? The excuse I heard over and over from the main server who was the ONLY good one was that she just started YESTERDAY! Yes that’s right our main server started the day before the event and the person we booked with had left 4 days prior ! Not an excuse !!! The restaurant is responsible regardless employee turnover ! Food was ok not great ... and we choose to pay extra for unlimited coffee , tea and soft drinks .. to bad they never offered any of the above to anyone ... bad experience overall ! Would NOT recommend having an event here ! And we NEVER GOT an APOLOGY from anyone ... no I’m sorry nothing come on please ... disappointed ☹️ go anywhere else but here for...
