This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. The service is great and the food is to die for.
I came to leave a review about my great experience, and I couldn’t help but notice the previous review left. Thankfully, I was in the building and was able to witness the situation. I would first like to say that it is never okay to comment on someone’s gender, age, and ethnicity! This worker was extremely nice to this man who wanted to dine in after ordering and paying for his food for take out. Totally understanding, the very nice worker told this man that she CAN sit him at a table, but a waitstaff will be over to take care of them. The man then got aggravated and started to say he didn’t want a waitstaff and just wanted to eat his food because his son changed his mind. Now as someone who worked in a restaurant 20 years ago, I feel for the workers. Waitstaff work for tips, so having someone take up your table when your only source of income is that table is sad, but still allowed - which is why this lady said she would let him sit down but there will have to be a waitstaff to help. She then told him she would give him a few minutes to think about it, and he left.
I was able to witness this because I was also dining in the restaurant, as it was not “completely empty”. Please do not fire this worker as she was trying to be as accommodating...
Read moreA friend recommended Khoo for sushi so I had to try it. As soon as I walked in I smelled a foul aroma which turned out to be the fish tank. If I was there alone I would have turned right around but I was there with a guest so I continued on. We were seated in a darkly lit booth and were handed a menu that was quite extensive. Although there is quite a wide variety to choose from on their menu, there is not a big sushi selection. There are only several raw fish choices including the basics such as salmon, tuna, eel, and a few others. My favourite, which is yellowtail was missing. I decided to order the vegetable soup and the salmon sashimi. The cup of vegetable soup was quite large but it contained minimally steamed vegetables which were cut so large they almost did not fit in the bowl. The broth seemed to be water with soy sauce. Quite tasteless. The sashimi portions were also generous alsd the pieces were also cut in gigantic portions. The fish seemed fresh and had a pleasantly sweet taste. Service was swift and friendly. Prices are average. There is plenty of parking. If you like Chinese or Malaysian food there are plenty of choices. If you like sushi you may want to select another restaurant. Hopefully they will clean...
Read moreI had dinner at Khoo and ordered the General Tso's Chicken. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was flavorful and not too spicy. The rice was also cooked perfectly, and the vegetables were fresh and crisp.
The service at Khoo was excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he made sure our drinks were always full. He also gave us recommendations for other dishes on the menu.
The atmosphere at Khoo is casual and relaxed. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained, and there is plenty of seating. There is also a bar area where you can sit and enjoy a drink while you wait for your food.
Overall, I had a positive experience at Khoo. The food was excellent, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a casual dining experience.
Here are some additional details about my experience:
I spent about $20 per person for dinner. I highly recommend the General Tso's Chicken and the fried rice. There was plenty of parking available in a free parking lot. The restaurant is...
