Emilio's Bakery — Restaurant in West Warwick

I don't like to post an uncomplementory review,but I have bought inferior pastry and breads at Emilio's too often. Today I purchased some cc cookies,they were fresh and chewy.They have been dry and "crummy " on several visits .I also bought a small Sicilian loaf.This loaf was so hard my thumb didn't break the crust AND the inside was COLD. The owner denied it was previously frozen and insisted it was cold outside,therefore reflecting the bread condition . My car was warm and running all morning long .She seems to blame the weather a lot for her product inferiority. In the past I would have overlooked the less than desirable freshness of product but not with the current prices I'm paying.Almost $8.00 for 3 cookies and a small loaf of bread . I expect QUALITY in all that I buy now because pricing is absurd. If their ingredients cost more and the consumer pays more,it better be fresh,and of high quality. I will not pay more for questionable freshness for the profits...

I recently purchased 4 muffins, a package of wine biscuits, a package of pepper biscuits, and 2 plain spinach pies (no cheese, no pepperoni). The muffins were decent. No complaints about the muffins. The biscuits were just about fair. No taste to the wine biscuits and the pepper biscuits seemed stale. My main complaint is with the "spinach" pies. There was, MAYBE, barely 2 tablespoons of spinach. It was ALL bread!! So I had to create my own sandwich with cheese, tomatoes, etc. I know several people who complain about the quality of food from here. They no longer patronize this bakery. Now, I am also one of these people. Please, save your money and go...

Delicious and affordable bakery goods. Everything is amazing!!! From Emilio's, our family especially enjoys the pizza chips, chocolate chip biscotti, chocolate chip cookies, egg biscuits, cream pies, and most of all the bread! Which lasts more like 4 to 5 days instead of 2 to 3 because of the crispy crust, dusting of flour, and general freshness. Need extra time around the holidays, get Emilio's to save time on deserts and baked goods. Sorry to sound like a commercial, but it's well deserved. Service is always stellar too! They never mind my picky eater and food...
