I visited the CAVA location in Warwick for the first time on Friday July 11th. I scheduled a pickup order of a bowl for 7pm (placed the order at 6:43pm) and I didn't have my food in-hand until 7:45pm.
I also witnessed the CAVA restaurant manager kick out the entire line of people waiting because their 'POS system went down' - while i was standing there, waiting for my pick up order. While technical issues come up, the way the manager handled the situation was beyond unprofessional in front of customers. They've clearly never managed a food service operation before.
The staff were clearly undertrained, the manager lacked any retail food management experience and the entire operation seemed like a disaster - definitely not ready to serve customers.
The steak was overcooked and dry, yet the rice was undercooked, crunchy and inedible. My greyston bakery brownie was maybe 1/2 the size of their normal retail brownies, yet it was the same price as a full sized offering.

Read moreI had heard such good things from friends about the Smithfield location. My husband and I were excited to order take out from the digital drive thru. We arrived at the window five minutes after our pick up time and were told to hang on. About 10 mins later our food passed through the window. It was pretty salty in my opinion. My husband and I both got grain and green bowls and I had trouble locating the greens. I paid extra for an extra serving of main ingredient being mixed vegetables and was shocked by how hard they were to find. Both of our meals were missing the olives and broccoli we ordered. If they had run out it would have been nice to be notified when we arrived or received our food. We both requested dressing on the side but only my meal had the dressing on the side. My husbands meal the dressing was on the bowl. It didn’t taste bad. It just wasn’t what we expected. I was really disappointed when I noticed a hair halfway through my bowl. Read moreStart with the positive- The food is delicious. Now the rest of the review. There's a very long line every time you go in to order. The staff seems overwhelmed and totally disorganized- deer in the headlights look. The line to order comes to an abrupt stop and backs up into the seating areas. It seems no one staff member is assigned to a particular station for the food assembly so you just kind of stand there and wait at any given point. We asked for pita bread and none of them knew where to get it from or even if we could have it. The ice machine was broken, the drink area was gross. There were no more forks, apparently they ran out. The floors were covered in food and napkins, and the tables were all sticky and dirty. There's definitely a management issue in this location. I am not someone who leaves online reviews, much less bad ones, but for a place that has such great potential, they are already going downhill fast.
