Reviewing their COVID compliance
Associate at the window handing out food had no gloves, no mask.
The next visit we made, since we assumed this was a fluke, they had one glove on, but still no mask.
Wrote to DQ corporate, who informed me that all compliance with CDC and state & local safety regulations is optional, not compulsory.
We're not going back
Edit: DQ corporate replied to my review, but I already spoke to their customer relations team, and they said the following (emphasis mine): --Please know that the health and wellbeing of our fans is our top priority. We strongly encourage all franchise owners to close in-restaurant and outdoor dining and focus on offering drive-thru, takeout and delivery services, where available. (Moot point. State law forced restaurants to close dining)
All locations are following our everyday cleaning and sanitation practices that meet and often exceed local, state and government standards. Staff at all locations also have increased the frequency of handwashing and cleaning of high-contact areas in our restaurants, including door handles, pin pads for transactions, condiment and beverage stations, countertops and fan seating areas. Additionally, we recommend that crews in restaurants wear cloth face coverings or masks and wear gloves.--
State law in 2020 required masks be worn by staff, but DQ corporate only "encouraged" compliance. Does encouragement sound like something that keeps the public safe? How does Florida look right now? Texas? Alabama? They "encourage" mask use as well, but...
Read moreUpon driving 5 miles, the careless young woman working the desk made my order incorrectly not once, but twice. Now, I am not typically a difficult customer, in fact this is the first online review I have ever felt the need to publish, but I paid for the first chocolate extreme with chocolate ice cream. What I received was a plain chocolate blizzard. Upon returning I was welcomed with ugly looks and condescending body language from the staff. I ordered another item to replace the incorrect one that I had received without making a fuss, but upon getting to my car I found that the extra cookie dough blizzard with chocolate ice cream that I was charged for was nothing more than vanilla blizzard with nothing in it. At this point it seems clear to me that I was being intentionally given the incorrect order to spite my late night arrival to the restaurant. My advice to this company would be to either train staff that every customer to enter the store before close to be treated as they should be. Or close earlier because these employees cannot seem...
Read moreI came through the drive thru with a friend and my dog. The woman who checked me out and handed us our ice cream was great and offered my dog a treat. We parked to enjoy our ice cream and I offered my dog a bowl of water. She left a small amount of water in the bowl so i poured it out of the car window. A few minutes later I got out to throw away trash and was immediately confronted by a male employee on a smoke break. He said “thanks for that” and how rude I was for “pouring out my drink” next to his car. I stated it had only been a small amount of water. He snapped that it wasn’t a small amount of water, that it had “gotten everywhere” even on my own car. He was accusatory and demeaning. At that point I just said “it’s just water” and got in my car and left. I will never be back to this location. Such an uncomfortable and needlessly aggressive situation. I came here with a friend to enjoy a treat on my day off and to be treated this way...
