I think I found my breakfast spot. Everything I had today was amazing.
I'm a bit ashamed of myself because I don't think I caught our waitress's name but she was sweet and attentive. We started with our breakfast beverages and I got my large earthenware mug of chai. Hubby had a nice strong coffee. He ordered the nana's breakfast platter. Comes with 2 eggs, 2 slices of toast, 2 slabs of bacon cooked 2 different ways, and a deep fried potato patty. I ordered the SeaCoast Blue Oyster Mushrooms over whipped ricotta on a slice of toast. Everything was topped with an egg with crispy garlic garnish. There were also white button mushrooms as well. Wow! The flavors! The ricotta was so smooth and creamy like a crème fraiche but tasty like cream cheese. I've had many dishes topped with crispy fried garlic but this was among one of the tastiest and strongest tasting fried garlic that I've tasted. Hubby also loved his meal. The real star of the show was the chia pudding. Our waitress was super thoughtful and split the pudding into two dishes. Oh my goodness it was so delicious. Hubby ate 75% off it before he even touched his breakfast platter! It's creamy oat milk, perfectly soaked chia seeds, it was topped with oatmeal and toasted seeds. Then it's finished with a drizzle of fermented honey and fresh fruit. Today it was paper thin slices of crisp apples. I wouldn't be surprised if this pudding is ordered EVERY SINGLE TIME we come here...
Read moreAfter reading an article about Nana’s opening in Westerly, we drove from Connecticut to try their breads, pizza and other vegan menu items. The food was incredibly delicious and flavorful and well worth the hour drive. Met friends for lunch and had the bean and local veggie salad in a bread bowl and the Seacoast mushroom and miso pizza. Both were very unique, savory and filling. Good portions, creative food combinations, and so tasty. The food was so good, after going to the beach we went back for dinner! We had the special cucumber and fresh tomato salad with dill and the heirloom bean tempeh burger with mushrooms. The tempeh burger was like no other I have ever had and it was just amazing! They also had excellent homemade chai tea and Matcha lattes. We couldn’t leave without getting the rye koji porridge bread which had the most divine texture and taste. We will definitely...
Read moreI normally love Nana's, unfortunately last night it fell a little flat. We ordered the Chicken Quesadilla and Halloumi Burger. The quesadilla was pretty dry. Chicken didn't really have any flavor either — most of the flavor of the dish came from the chili crisp, which was tasty. Minimal cheese.
The halloumi burger was tasty but we asked for medium and the burger was through and through well done which is a bummer given having a juicy burger is... well the best part of having a burger. Not into food waste so obviously we ate the whole thing. The fries were also pretty soggy, normally they are super crispy.
Flavor-wise everything was tasty but these couple of things were a bit disappointing. It also wasn't very busy and we waited almost an hour to just get our two dishes — they were room temp by the time we got them. I'll be back but just wanted to throw...
